Have had the car for over a year now and had no idea what the dial in the center of the vents did. Apparently its a secondary adjustment that lets you fine tune the temperature of the air blowing out the upper vents. I've just kept it in red the whole time lol.

Kind of funny to see the same topic here, with the exact same arguments regarding whether it is a manual or an automatic. The only thing I know for sure is that no one will ever change their opinion of either transmission... It's almost as polarizing as politics.

For the record - I had a DCT in my Evo, have a manual in my M3 if that means anything.
I agree. I noticed that too about this particular forum. There is a lot of negativity here across the board especially when it comes to certain aspects such is exhuast sound, turbos, DCT, adaptive suspension, executive package, LED lighting, colors...oh wait, pretty much they bitch about everything
Fast forward to December 2019 and be amazed at how many members on this forum seem to be in love with P cars.:

I learned that I can set my driver seat number one button for easy ingress and egress and my number two button for my chosen driving position.

You can also custom code your car to turn on easy entry/egress and the seat will scoot back automatically. I tend to like a bit more aggressive seating position which makes it harder to get in and out and this feature gives me more room to swing my legs out/in.

I've gone thru my 2018 M3 CS menus pretty thoroughly and I don't remember seeing an auto exit comfort setting for that. Quite a convenience features have been removed from that model so....

Requires custom coding, you can't do it in the menus

Didnt realize for the entire first month of ownership, that the iDrive screen on my '18 was actually a touch screen. Big DOH moment when i found out (also realized you can "write" on the iDrive wheel as well). Should probably RTFM.

That brings me to the next problem - the screen gets real dirty quick if i use it as a touchscreen and im always weary of wiping it with a microfiber that may be contaminated. Took my chances and purchased this glass screen protector (linked below) despite the iffy reviews. It fits perfectly, almost a 10/10 and cant even tell its installed. Does not affect the touch sensitivity either. Now i can wipe the screen down without a worry and just replace the screen protector whenever.

Found out that the 1-8 media buttons are programmable to more than just radio stations. Changed some to TPMS, Sport displays etc.

Yes it can and yes they do, it just costs 10 arms and a leg.

Touch the buttons lightly and iDrive will show you what you programmed without actuating it - cause you will always forget your programming.

I was thinking it would be really great if I could see the RPMs and selected gear in the HUD instead of just the speed...and then I found the right box to check.

It's somewhat like the terms and conditions you agree to, nobody reads it but very informative. Thanks!

I've learned after two m4's and 50k miles that a bootmod3 stage 1 tune (93octane) is more than a little bit of extra go...
holy crap...it's a whole different car. I think it may explode 😳😬😁

BUMP.

Just learned that my lowly base ass Civic has got factory burbles! Only in first gear when going slowly, e.g. in a parking lot. Thankfully, it's quite quiet.

I learned that all the warnings about how feeble the charge pipes are are 100% true. I'm running stock boost and the car is a 2020 M4 all of 1,400 miles old (only 400 worth of hard driving after break-in period) and I've already blown the cool side j-pipe. Intercooler side cracked clean off! This is with no bolt-ons yet mind you, even though I have some DPs and intakes ready to go in. Ha! It's covered by warranty, but I'm done worrying about that plastic-ass thing and am ordering some upgraded ones. Do yourself a favor and get real charge pipes!

Just found out that the car actually sounds better in regular mode vs. Sports mode especially when you rev it out past 4K, maybe due to the fact that the turbos don't engage as quick in Comfort therefore not muffling the sound?
