F80 CS PSS done for after only 6500 miles

Did track inspection today and was surprised to find out my tires are done for on the inside.

The car hasn't seen track so far. Is that because of camber setting?

That's wild. I would take it in and have the alignment checked. I can't imagine that much wear in such little time.

Yup. It is being worked on, will post alignment results.

The car felt off when I first got it, and I asked the dealer to do an alignment. Not sure what they did.

It looks like it’s down to the cord on the inside. I bet your toe is off. I always insist on an alignment on all my new BMWs. I’ve never had a perfect alignment from the factory.

The tires shouldn’t be shot that quickly unless you were incredibly hard on them during street driving.

Yes I got a free alignment in 500mi.

The factory alignment was off. The car was not tracking straight. After the alignment, much better. But no idea how the toe was off this much.

Possible factory spec on CS is different than ZCP?

The tires should have 3000mi on canyon/mountain spirited driving. But I wasn't burning tires really.

Tires should not show such abnormal/uneven wear. As other have posted, something is off with your alignment.

Are both left and right rear tires worn the same way, or is it only the right one?

If it is different at all, it shouldn't be *that* different.

I had an alignment done when I mounted my Cup2s a few months ago and my before/after specs were all within range. I think factory camber is maxed around -1.3. Mine was just under -1.0 when the did it.

I just ran my CS at the track yesterday (no camber plates) and was amazed at how evenly the wear was. I'll be interested to hear the outcome on your car.

Just in the negotiations for a "CS" Enjoying the daily drive aspect? Any comment would be huge, thank you.

BEFORE specs, right rear toe off a lot.

Should I blame it on the BMW dealership that did the initial alignment? (Not that I am going after them since it is 6 months ago)

But I don't recall any incident that might have caused the toe issue

negotiating on a used M3 CS or a new M4 CS? I've got the M3 CS and have only briefly seen the interior differences for the M4 CS. Not sure I would like the door cards on a daily basis.

I do miss the convenience package, but that is the definition of a first world problem. lol

My CS has been bulletproof for over 12k miles so far. Honestly, its my favorite M car that I have ever owned (E46 M3, E90 M3, F10 M5 previously).

Yikes. I doubt you could really have an argument against the dealership from so long ago.

My guess, and this is purely speculation... do you valet the car? Maybe it bumped a curb backing into a parallel spot or something like that?

Not unless you have a proof showing it was off after it was done. A pothole can knock off your alignment easily.

Yeah, not worth my time anyways. I used to only do technical work with Indy shops. I did the alignment at the dealership since it was free.

I never valet the cs especially given the front lip. I personally don't recall any incident....

Well water under the bridge. I am glad I found it. In hindsight it was scary considering the mountain roads I like driving at night

New M4cs. Door cards I believe I can handle, arm rest not so much. The damn thing is absolutely beautiful so for those basic inconveniences, guess I can live. I'm currently haggling over a 3K gap, hopefully it'll get done by tomorrow. Have to admit my options are narrow, either that ridiculous "Heritage Pack" Those colors, the racing stripe, I could do without. Only other option would be an M2 Comp, meh. Anything else I should know about the auto?? Currently In a 2017 ZCP. Thanks my friend....

Just went out and checked my M3 CS. All 4 wearing perfectly even at 7,500 miles. Surprisingly the front look almost new. The rears have significantly less tread depth

With that said mine had a significant right hand pull from the factory. I went through several dealer visits and alignments before I found this TSB on Bimmerpost . I made them aware and Initially they told me it was not compatible with the CS. The next planned step was to replace a steering knuckle but lucky for me when I went in for that the service advisor did informed me they had found it and it was compatible. They loaded it up and did another alignment and it tracks like it's on rails now. Straight as an arrow. On center feel and initial turn in was much improved too. Couldn't believe the difference. Scroll thru the attached thread and see my last comment.

HA! I saw your CS at Edge today and heard about your story (I was dropping my track E36 M3 for a track inspection, alignment and some other work). That sort of wear definitely sounded unusual and was even more unusual when they told me the car had never been tracked.

I corded in inside of PSS exactly like that, both rears same wear pattern approximately 12k, with factory alignment. Guessing aggressive street driving will do that. The tech didn’t note any abnormal wear.
