Hello everyone, been a long time but just jumped back on the forums with the recent purchase of a gently used 2019 M4 ... I have apple carplay at the moment but would definitely be interested in having the full screen ability.

I have a 2016 and was able to purchase an upgrade from iDrive4 to iDrive6 and add CarPlay from easy bimmer coding.

I know your situation is a little different but it should be easier and cheaper since you have a 2017.

Just contact them and they'll let you know what you need and the cost. For reference I paid $225 and connected a computer to the car and they remoted in to do all the updates.
