What should I buy for my next car after my M4?
So I am having a bit of a dilemma. I have had my M4 for 2 years and a bit now and will most likely be trading it in once my warranty is up. I have quite a few mods and honestly don't want to run the risk of things breaking and having to deal with repairs. Apart from that I usually like to change up my cars every three years.
Now onto the dilemma. I have no clue what to get next!! I don't need the rear seats so I'm pretty open to whatever car. As I look at cars though I can't find anything I'd prefer over my M4 in its price range. I plan on buying a house this year so I don't want to spend too much money on my next car. I do want something fun, relatively comfortable within sport car standards and close in speed to my JB4 M4. If anyone has any suggestions on cars they've driven and liked I'd love to hear it. |

I'm in the same boat. Right now leaning towards the RS3 when it comes out. S3 if I just want to save money, or a Cayman if I can get over the fact it's not as practical.
Everything else just seems too big. I'd say if you don't need the rear seats, then go with a Cayman. |

I was really thinking of a 718 cayman s but it just seems so slow compared to the M4
Maybe a used jag f-type r? There are some great deals on Z06's in my area also but I fear it won't be too comfortable as my daily driver. Maybe a used 2017 911 base? I wish the new Audi RS5 was out. I hate how the c63 coupe looks, way too bland. |

Yea, I was going to say that the 718 is no joke. Some mags have gotten an 11.9 out of the S stock. They will be nasty with a flash and a little exhaust work.

Get a GT-R. I don't really know why anybody would buy an M4 instead of a GT-R anyway. There is no performance metric an M3/M4 can compete. And there have always been deals to be had on them

I was looking at used GTRs and 997 911 turbos. How would you compare your 911 turbo to the GTR? I know yours is a 991 turbo, but if you have experience w/ the 997 turbo, how would you compare it to say a 2014 GTR?

They really dropped off the last few years, best years were the R32-R34 respectively and those aren't attainable without DMV work.

I sold my GT-R and got a 991 Turbo because that car was a bit better in every way. It has great feel, and PDK is incredible performance wise, on street and on a track. I keep cars mostly stock but for brake parts upgrades for safety/longevity if I have to. I even try to stay near oem tires for the most part. Driving around town I never get on it and don't play merge games and I turn my nose up at vehicles sniffing around when on the hwy...so take my opinion with a grain of salt... but I would be happier with a GT-R than a 997.1 Turbo. And GT-R's have been pushed so far performance wise that known issues are easily spotted and fixed much more reasonably than just about any 911 variant. Hope this helps

After this M3 (hopefully at least 3 years away as I change cars too often) I will most likely be looking at a Cayman S. One other car you should at least drive is the Shelby GT350. I know not everyone's cup of tea, but most people change their mind after driving one...special car, and for $50k it is within budget.

I'm strongly considering a c7 grand sport or z06 right now. They seem like the best cars I can get within the budget I'm setting. They also aren't extremely uncomfortable and somewhat practical with the big trunk and the MRC makes the car great for long drives. Now the question is does the z06 have more power than I actually need? I also live in Miami and I'm a bit worried with everything I've heard regarding the overheating issues. I was thinking of just doing a GS and Doug some boltons. It'll be quick enough to keep up with the M4.

This is the first time I'd say a base 911 is totally worth it over the S. 11.9@118 is very fast especially when you think it had well under 400 hp. Track times are what you'd expect and still a stunning looker!
