Anyone else get banned from the G8X section for making fun of its looks?

Gotta love wearing skinny jeans and a blazer to appreciate the new design language I assume. I'm pretty pissed they changed the wheel bolt pattern. The ONLY thing I was looking forward to, was obtaining those new wheels for my 2019. Love the M666 but they're heavier than F@ck.

Yup, the M4 is a disaster from any angle, just a mash-up of other automakers design elements with one unique one: the grille, which ain't unique in a good way.

The M3 looks pretty good from the rear, but that's it.

Even more curious is the rest of BMW's lineup ... while I'm not a huge fan of the M8 or giant 7-series looks, they manage to be ok ... so what the fuck happened?


It's like BMW had Mr. Bean in for a design shop tour and everything just kind of got out of hand ...

Wow, looking now, the M440i looks WWWAaaaayyy better to my eye than the M4 - still heinous, but better.

The M4 front end can't decide if it's a cadillac, camaro, charger, mustang, or just a disfigured design mess




The M440i at least has a more cohesive design - i don't like it, but it works for what it is

Crazy because I just posted in the exhaust thread about how sedan_clan and m3gymnut should start their own forum to circle jerk BMW (said it much nicer terms) and literally 10 seconds later my post was gone. They are not fucking around in that forum at all.

What a sad state affairs everything G8X has become even before the car has been made available.

I cannot post anything in the news section and the G forums, this time of intimidation was formerly run by the Gestapo in the past. Some people really don't care if they violate your first amendment rights. This forum is not becoming like Facebook, if you don't share their values , you will get booted or banned without a probable reason.

"Isn't it a shame that we have to choose this color and still pay more for the M Performance parts to make the car more acceptable?"

Isn't this factual? Or just my opinion?

And.... let's assume now that I suddenly started to love the G80 and even bought one. I couldn't access the forum anymore? Would I have to send an invoice to prove the purchase?


I start to love more and more the F80 forum. And even every time I open a spun crank hub thread, i'm happy and I say to myself "look, I can access and read this!! Nice!"

So that scenario happened to me. I'm banned from the G whatever (01?) X3 forum because I ragged on the SAV "///Ms" saying they were fake (which they are). Then we go and have a baby and the wife wants to sit up high in an SUV sooooo I got her an X3 begrudgingly (hate SUVs). I needed/wanted to ask a question in that section about coding the car and asked the mods for access. Radio Silence.

This forum is becoming North Korea levels of censorship!

Been banned twice now from the G8X forums. The first time, I understand, I was definitely a bit troll like, however the second time I saw nothing wrong with my posts.

I was never harsh or overly critical, used no foul language, and didn't mention the grills once in my comments, I even held back most of my true thoughts and opinions. Any posts I made, I made with fair and valid critiques which I backed up with examples, and then even tried to counterbalance them with some compliments so I wouldn't look overly negative. One comment which was removed (for some reason) was comparing the F8X to a nicely tailored suit, and the G8X to one with someone who has a noticeable beer belly. This was on the thread labeled F8X vs G8X, so it wasn't even off topic or repetitive in anyways. Apparently that post was unacceptable and deleted by mods/admins, but the post right below mine was "Ugly ass grills confirmed" and endless comments of references to Japanese design (Lexus/Toyota comments) all of which were off topic, while mine was actually referencing both cars and actually used great examples to back up my opinions, not just spamming comments on not liking the design. How those comments were not deleted but my very tame and playful comment which actually had a great amount of information was, I do not understand.

Also I never received any warnings, infractions or even notification of a ban each time. It would have been nice to at least receive a warning or know that admin was unhappy with my behavior. Just banning someone is a lazy way to stop a problem.

As others have said, there are some really annoying people on the forums too who like to push their opinions on others and then fight them for having a difference of opinion, always calling up "people had the same reaction 10-years ago and ended up loving it" and other BS. I won't name anyone, but you all know the persons I am talking about.

My sister used to work at the main Pontiac Motors plant in Pontiac, MI back in the early 70s. Shortly after she started working there she leased her pride and joy, a Pontiac Trans-Am with the "screaming eagle" hood decal. I never had much contact with her as an adult, but I did get to see that car a few times. Apparently, when her lease was up on the Trans Am she bought an Aztek. Ghastly car. Not sure how you make that switch, but maybe she should have done something like this:
