You should have changed them back in 2019 for your 3 year mark!

They are due every 3rd oil change and an oil change is 10K miles or 36 months.

For a Stage tune we use NGK plugs. If you buy 6 from FCP Euro the next time you buy them new you can return the used ones for a refund. If you pay with PayPal you can even get the return shipping refunded too.

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...plug-ngk-96987

Plugs usually don't come gapped.
Gap yours to 0.023in for Stage 1 & 2.
Only gap tighter on a custom tune if your tuner says so. Here's the official word from ProTuning Freaks:

They come out of the box factory gapped between 0.035 and 0.028in. Best to get them all together so gaps are the same...if you don't gap them.

Increased boost from Stage tunes can supposedly blow out a "wider spark" so PTF recommends 0.023in for their boost levels and best performance.

My custom Paul E85 race tune runs best with 0.021" gaps but I'm pushing about 28PSI. I tried the 0.018" gap but my idle was rough as hell.

For the power I'm making, I can't wait to see what my plugs look like at apparently 45k mi. I got the car and tuned it a year ago at 48k and the previous owner replaced them at 14k. 58k on it now. Going to S2 OTS with MAD fat boys when they come out. one step colder SILZKBR8D8S going in.

My '15 Service Manual says every 6th oil change or 60,000 miles. That being said, my dealer replaced them at 26k under warranty just before it expired. Obviously, with tuning it should be more frequent.

I wonder if I should still change spark plugs every 3 years on ultra low mileage cars. I have a 2020 M4 with 2500 miles. I’ll have no more than 3000 miles on my 3rd oil change. Changing spark plugs every 3000 miles seems excessive.

Interesting...this is what I see mostly.

]

This also lines up with my 2019 manual as well.

Changing synthetic oil less than the service interval is excessive unless you're tracking it. Plugs are at 30k regardless of mi/yr.

AFAIK, spark plugs, unlike engine oil or brake fluid, do not degrade except when used. I think you can safely wait until higher mileage.

Not how I interpret it - he says 30k miles (regardless of miles per year).
