RK Tunes is great, there are honestly a lot of choices for this platform and I think a lot of people stick to what is most commonly used. I've driven in a lot of cars that RK has tuned from E36s to E and F series modern cars and have always liked his tunes.

RK tuned my boss's turbo E36 M3 (makes over 650rwhp and is ultra smooth, extremely solid tune) and I was actually going to have them tune my M3 but decided to try Bootmod3 first because of all the features / customization it offers without having to request changes to the tune from your tuner and I've been very happy with it. I try different things all the time and I didn't want to bother a tuner with little changes I am always curious to test out. BM3 is the perfect platform for someone like me.

Interesting question,
Because we have to ask him to send over a new map for little change. We can't log the car with his software. You need to buy his obd device to tune. All these things makes people go to MHD or BM3.

Now if RK-tunes registered as a tuner in bm3 Tuner List, that would be a great! It's a lot easier for him and for customers.

Well, once tuned I would not touch my tune anymore. I'm currently on DINAN Stage 3 and don't have the need to customize my tune. RK is local and it's just a thought why not more people having the tune since the numbers are impressed.

Jordan's tunes are hella fast, and he is a good tuner. His tunes push your car to it's max, and people don't realize the extra wear that comes from having your car be faster. That's where I think people's complaints of unreliability come from. I personally don't have a tune from him but I can see why you'd want one.

I would echo what previous posters have said. There are many options. I think the best scenario is to choose a custom tune of your choice. I chose BM3 and Paul Johnson.....could not be happier. My car is everything I want it to be...not necessarily one I want to try and set records with...it a daily driver. That being said, I have no doubt Paul could do that if I asked (so could many others).

I like BM3 for the flexibility and ability to change maps as I need (E30/meth vs Meth vs 91 oct shit Cali gas) I can change as I choose in less than a minute.

I have no personal experience with RK tunes, but certainly cannot argue with the fact that he is very legit.

It's nice to have so many options.......

I have a custom tune from Jordan at RK and am very happy with it. I switched from his OTS stage 2 to a custom tune that is slightly torque limited for a more linear torque curve. It is not "pushing it to the max" and Jordan was great to work with. After a few dyno pulls my car was averaging a little over 500whp/wtq on 93 octane. Pulls strong all the way to redline. For track days I usually mix a couple gallons of 100 octane in to be more on the safe side.

For an "OTS" stage 2 tune from MHD or BM3, with catless downpipes . People with personal experience, what do they dyno? I have a 93 octane flash tune from RK for my 2015 m4 and it dyno'd 493whp/551wtq. I have K&N drop in filters as well. Want to know if 500whp is basically the safe as it goes for 93 octane? Almost want to stack on a jb1 for a few extra PSI of boost!

This thread is old, but have been scouring the forums for information..thanks!
