Cargo Net Options

Kind of a silly complaint and question but, I've come to the point where I just can't deal with the crap OEM cargo net in my 2018 M3. It's just the one that holds things to the floor of the trunk, albeit not very well at all! My 2016 M4 had a net that actually had a pocket I could put stuff in.

Anyone have some recommendations or options for some cargo nets/storage in the boot?

I've got the OEM cargo net in my M4, and I'm ok with it:
For small items, I simply lift up the elastic side to make a small opening. For putting in or removing larger items, I simply unhook one or two of the hooks as needed. The net works well in keeping the items from moving or jumping around.

Edit: as I'm aware of different versions of the net now, the one I've got is one with 6 hooks to hook to the 6 slots on the removable trunk floor, as SD described in the post below. I highly recommend this version, as I've never experienced any problems in using it.

The F80/F82 M3/M4 actually came with two different trunk cargo nets, depending on the year. My 2016 M4 came with a net that stretched out flat on the trunk floor and has a connector system with six small, round plastic discs on the net that fit into six keyhole slots in the removable trunk floor, one in each corner and one in the middle on each side. There is a pouch in the rear 1/3 of the net. It works perfectly to secure a large pizza directly in the center of the trunk without any movement.

My wife's 2018 M3 came with a different net with four plastic hooks in the corners that attach to the D-rings in each corner of the trunk (my M4 also has these D-rings). This net doesn't lay flat on the trunk floor but sits an inch or so above the trunk floor. You can't secure a pizza box, and it doesn't have a pouch. My wife liked my cargo net system better, so I found the same net that's in my car, bought the six keyhole slots, drilled holes in the removable trunk floor, and installed those, so now we both have a choice of which net to use.

(Edited to reflect that the 6-hook cargo net has a pouch while the 4-hook cargo net doesn't have a pouch.)

I have the one in your first paragraph and it is GREAT but mine has the pouch.

I search on eBay for “F82 cargo net” and there are a few for sale.

I have two of the 6 clip ones with flap that attach to the floor of the trunk. When I have used it I am ok with it. I don't carry much that has to be held down.......
99% of the time it sits in the trunk under the floor cover

I had occasion yesterday to re-arrange the trunk and discovered that my original 6-hook cargo net does indeed have the pouch, which I've apparently never used. It's the 4-hook one that came with my wife's M3 that doesn't have the pouch.

Changing my original post to reflect reality...

no net options to recommend, but you could keep a couple of those folding trunk organizers in the back that you can "pop up" when you need ot carry something you dont want rolling around...

amazon search for "Honey-Can-Do SFT-01166"

The cargo net is fine. You need to get a trunk mat. The one I have is an anti slip mat and once you place an item on it, it stays put. The net works with mat very well. I picked this one up from Turner Motorsports.
