2016 M4 conrod sheared through 20k miles

Hello,

I have ordered a 2016 BMW M4 through carmax. I went to BMW today to get a list of options; as well as warranty work.

The warranty work shows “Defect Code : 1124016900” Conrod bearing shells worn, and sheared through.

Does this mean the engine has been replaced? Or maybe the rod bearings were done at the very least?

Here’s a picture of the warranty paperwork.

I did some digging.

The engine was replaced with a new one. At 20k miles.

The car has 83k. So I guess the engine technically has 63k. And all gaskets and seals are 60k old as well.

Pretty excited for this to arrive at my local car Max.

Nice good luck, you're going to love the car!

I'd pop for their warranty if I were you. These cars are amazingly reliable, but that one is getting up there in mileage. Should be good for years and years though!

Schweet!!! You've got a factory replaced motor properly worn-in and with lower miles than the car. I say that's a score!

I have it and used the CarMax warranty it's great the only downside is you need to buy the car from them to get it

A lot of uncommon warranty work on that. If the car is all sorted now from the previous owner, you should have less troubles during your ownership.
