2016 M4 conrod sheared through 20k miles
Hello,
I have ordered a 2016 BMW M4 through carmax. I went to BMW today to get a list of options; as well as warranty work. The warranty work shows “Defect Code : 1124016900” Conrod bearing shells worn, and sheared through. Does this mean the engine has been replaced? Or maybe the rod bearings were done at the very least? Here’s a picture of the warranty paperwork. |

The engine was replaced with a new one. At 20k miles. The car has 83k. So I guess the engine technically has 63k. And all gaskets and seals are 60k old as well. Pretty excited for this to arrive at my local car Max. |

Nice good luck, you're going to love the car!
I'd pop for their warranty if I were you. These cars are amazingly reliable, but that one is getting up there in mileage. Should be good for years and years though! |

A lot of uncommon warranty work on that. If the car is all sorted now from the previous owner, you should have less troubles during your ownership.
Congrats! |
