I usually don't get too angry (truly angry) about the stuff idiot politicians say, but this made my blood boil.

Isn't that the wrist band guy? The one who claimed in his campaign that in Europe old folks have to wear so they wont be killed if they go to a hospital?

Yeah, cpr classes could help! I mean, the next time someone does this in some kindergarten for example, the tiny fingers are perfect for putting pressure for their teachers wounds and kids love putting them in to holes! The kids marching I your streets really should quit whining. Cancer kills more kids than guns and cpr would help in that too!

It's one am here but I cant go to bed. I'm waiting for the trump reaction on stormy.

You mean Rick Santorum or whatever the hell you spell his last name.

That is why GOP no longer has a soul. The way they justify some of their claims is just sad at this point. All I am happy for is the next generation isn't taking this shit anymore. They will change things for the better.

Exactly, it’s their fault (students) and their responsibility to prepare for an active shooter situation? What in the fuck world do some of these people live in. And they are for the most part in control.

So now the students and faculty not only need to be marksmen, but expert field medics as well according to some Republicans/NRA supporters?

It’ll be interesting to see how Rick tries to walk this one back.

Swimming is always the part of a tri that intimidates me - and the reason I've not done one. However my friends have told me "don't worry about it, it's not really swimming". They claim you are in a very buoyant wet suit and you only use your arms (save legs for run). So you don't need to have good swimming technique per se.

Maybe that's true but still. Yikes.

I’m not doing a wetsuit, maybe I should rethink that. It is “only” a 500 meter swim so I’m hoping I can do it with a little over two months left to train.

I agree though, the swim has always kept me from trying one. For some reason doing a ten mile running event last year has given me confidence to try my first tri.

I'm with kids: if it weren't for the biking, swimming, and running, I'd be in for sure!

I'm waiting for a few hours before reading headlines saying Trump went on a Twitter tirade because he is continuing to show he is a giant baby.

Use a wetsuit, it’s a huge advantage. Just don’t forget practicing getting that sucker off when wet. I think I spent a couple of minutes struggling before I got mine off at my first tri.

As for swimming, low drag is king. Practice a low energy flutter kick that keep your legs in a tidy streamlined manner. Sinking legs, scissor kicks etc. are speed killers.

Thanks for the tips. I'm definitely not thinking I'm going to compete for time with anybody on this. This is just the ol challenging myself thing to do something I haven't done before. Not to say I'm not going to try my hardest, but I know my limitations etc.

Also my 7 year old daughter and her friends are going to do a kids one the day before so we are making it into a family thing. The kids one is 50 yard swim, 3 mile bike and .5 mile run for her age group.

I'm looking forward to it.............after the swim.

How you been by the way? Long time no see you around here.

GG, or anyone else for that matter...did anyone code their car? I have now had my car for 3 years and have not done anything to it other than paint protectant and unplugging the fake noise.

Yeah.

I tend to code out my ASD, I don't unplug it. Haven't done my coding yet for my M3, I mean to do that very soon.

My advice is have someone you can sue do it. Lots of people do it themselves and say it's easy, and it might be ... but having looked at the software and what it's doing I declined to proceed

Remember when I was going to try it myself.

I couldn't even get the program to recognize my car.

What is the appropriate fee one should pay for these services? This sounds like the way I more than likely would go...
