Storing RE-71R in cold temps?
Hey all,
So I'm looking to up my tire storage organizational game with addition of the Tire Rack wallmount rack to my attached (but unheated) garage. I live in Jersey. Tire Rack's FAQ suggests that these kind of tires not be stored in temps <20F due to concern of cracking. My garage likely gets this cold at times, but probably more the exception than the norm. Anyone have any practical experience here with the 71R? Any observed issues with winter storage under similar conditions? Thinking maybe mounting it on the wall shared with the heated portion of the house might be good enough. Thanks |

I have a set of RE71R and NT01. I store both in heated spaces. I haven't tried my luck to see what happens if you do store them in cold conditions.
I would find room somewhere in the house to store them. Basement, kids room, spouses closet are all good options. |

I store my R and summer tires laying on its sides, never had any issues as there are no long term pressure points on the surface of the tire.
