19" square set-up w/ proper load rating
Looking for a square set of summer tires ..
was thinking of 255 or 265/35/19. After calling a local shop I was told that PA will now check load ratings on tires for state inspections. Of course I want to stay within spec for safety.. never heard of this tho. I was going to price out firestone Indy 500s but was told the load rating I need is 100 but these tires rate at 98 , so no go. Anyone else come across this? I’ve had pilot sports before and honestly not impressed for the price. I daily the car, no track time. Just need a capable mid range tire. Suggestions (that will meet load requirements)? Edit - I’m thinking I need a 275 in the rear to meet the 100 load requirements. Thoughts? My stock Michelins say 99 on the sidewall ... help?!

As far as square sizing, I’d go with 275/35R19. I run this square size in MSC2s on the track. As far as tire, lots of manufacturers make various tires with multiple load ratings in each size. Never heard of a state inspection looking that closely at a tire...kinda a PITA.
