Lots of great information, thanks for this comprehensive compilation. I am not jumping to conclusions just yet and still madly in love with my E92. All I can safely say is that I am rather pleased with what I see here and I think the next few years are going to be rather exciting in this segment. BMW has made the first move with this new M3/M4. Interesting to see what Merc and Audi do with the AMG and RS models respectively. Once all these models are out in the market, shopping for a new car is going to be awesome so needless to say I am very much looking forward to that and in the meantime enjoying my NA V8 engine....sweet as a nut she is.
Oh and somebody else said it a few pages ago...the M3 looks a bit like a baby M5 and its really gorgeous, well they both are.

They definitely look nice, both the M3 and M4.
The logos on the seats are cheesy though.

Coming from a laguna seca blue e46 owner, this is the closest to LSB there will be off the bat without having to go through BMW individual and slap down another 5K or so. That is reason enough!

The ATS already has slightly better handling and steering than the F30 which the M3 is based on, many find it to be the spiritual successor to the E46. So smaller size, weight in check, 420hp Twin Turbo plus a manual trans, I dunno-the Caddy sounds like a smart car to cross shop. I also bet it will undercut the starting price of the M3 by $2500-5k too.

Hate the chrome kidney grille and the side vent. Should've been an option for Black but I guess they must save a few things for the BMW Parts Dept to sell...

I don't get why BMW doesn't put bigger brake pedals in cars equipped with auto transmissions. I left-foot brake whenever I drive cars with only two pedals, so a bigger brake pedal would certainly help.
And honestly I can’t believe they’ve been using the same OEM rubber pedals for more than 20 years. For M cars, you’d think they’d be offering some nice-looking drilled aluminum pedals as standard by now… |

So many things to say....but first:
My e39 m5 is now for sale. I may drive it for the next 6-7 months, but it's for sale. I sold my winter wheels/tires today, I've got a bunch of other stuff to sell off, but at this point the e39 m5 is just a prelude to this. |

Hopefully, there won't be any engine issues that make it a ticking time-bomb like the last two motors....
