The design is pretty exaggerated, the front grill is ugly and the rear is just too much. But i actually like the profile and the 3/4 angle better (especially the part around the rear fender), it looks flat and sporty, while the M4 looks almost like a truck and from certain angles just weird.

I have a 2013 335i and my wife has a 2014 250is. The interior in the lexus is such an after though. No good storage compartments in front award button placing. Even though the lexus looks nicer inside. No where near the functionality of the f30 interior.

It's not not that car designs can't be distinctively Japanese, edgy and still good looking. Lexus has just gone totally overboard on the exterior while the interior looks stale and low rent other than the seats and gauges.

This is IMO a good example of stylish, Japanese cool.

Hmmmm

Seems that some of you will always give BMW the benefit of doubt i.e. I'll wait for real life pics, etc.

Why not same for other makes?

I'm in the minority I actual like the Lex. Let's say all black exterior all black exterior trim lowered with wheels exhaust taillights tinted or covered in red film= SICK. The center cluster is very bland though, but like the gauge cluster

Isn't the pricing for the Lexus supposed to be close to or over $100k. Anyone else have info on pricing.

Can you imagine cleaning the grill on this thing? The M3/M4 lines are far more lovely than the RC/F. That being said, I do like the seats and some of the styling cues. I just can't see something this far out there making the assembly line. It will be toned down tremendously IMHO.

The Lexus looks great. Real aggressive. However, the interior is its weak point. I hope the Quads are true quads and not faux quads like the last IS-F.

Should be an interesting matchup.

I feel like even with the smaller engine the BMW will still reign supreme in performance due to weight loss. With their acquisition of SGL and development of carbon fiber/weight loss technologies over the past years, the BMW will most likely be the lightest in its class.

Lexus will look good at night though. And unless the Lexus has HUD the M4 wins the tech battle, HUD should be a must in cars by now by far one of the best tech features out (Anybody know if you can see G-force on the HUD of M\\\ cars by the way?)

+1
Lexus is just too busy. Way too many creases and lines just don't flow.
That huge front grill looks pretty stupid too.

That Lexus is really disappointing looking in the interior. The outside looks ok, like any Japanese car when they are released. They still don't get that being unique with cockeyed exhaust pipes is not a positive thing. Applaud the V8, but in no way would I cancel my order on an M4!!!!!!!!!!11

The RCF design is actually already growing on me....

It's funny, 8 years ago my biggest gripe with Lexus was that most of their cars (with the exception of the 2nd generation IS) looked way too bland.

This one certainly isn't bland - I'll give them that

Now maybe 7 or 8 years from now they'll find a happy medium between too bland and too aggressive.

If the grill had a horizontal bar like most other cars that would fix a lot, IMO. That's why the only acceptable color for me would be obsedian black. Black would probably make the front end look less "gaping."

I had a good look at the RC back in Tokyo in December and whilst it needs to be seen in the flesh to understand and appreciate it , I feel the F is more prominent , more look at me and more attention seeking visually compared to the understated appearance of the BMW M4 Coupe.

The M4 can surprise you because it is deliberately understated if not anonymous but you would know what the RC is when you see it initially.
Will look at it in Geneva in March.

Those overhangs are terrible. Especially the rear overhangs. So much sheet metal hanging over the wheels from almost every angle :\

ditto. Growing on me though. If it outperforms the ///M significantly, I'd be hard pressed not to consider this. The grill ugliness and messy exterior lines could be masked significantly by a dark color such as black, etc.
