Pressure washer PSI recommendation?

What pressure washer PSI is everyone using? I have a 1500 PSI electric powered pressure washer and feel that it's not strong enough as it doesn't always take off the gunk on the car even when I'm 6 inches away from the car. I've been to self car washes and notice that those pressure washers seems to be stronger than mine and wonder what PSI they're set at.

After doing some research, I went with the AR Blue Clean AR390SS 2000 psi Electric Pressure Washer with Spray Gun, Wand, 30' Hose & 35' Power Cord, Blue from Amazon. I think it works great and has not damaged the car. I did order an hose extension so I don't have to move the machine around.

its car washing, not graffiti removal. You don't want anything EXTREMELY strong for getting dirt off the car, that is what shampoo and washing is for. The pre-rinse is to get the big stuff off, then you wash, then rinse. A 1500 is more than enough

Eric is right. 1500 PSI is more than enough. I recommend you buy a Kranzle power washer. I have had mine for about 7 years and it's still going strong. Super silent compared to my old Honda power washer.

I have a Kranzle 1500 psi and I wouldn't want anything more powerful - it's not neeeded.

Yup what they said above....I would add a foam gun to the mix and it will make removing the dirt a much safer and easier step. Plus it looks cool as hell!

I have a Kranzle unit as well and it's more than enough to get the job done. I highly recommend it!

I've been looking at the Kranzle K1122TST model:

https://www.pressurewashersdirect.co...her/p9832.html

Been going back and forth to justify spending a grand on a pressure washer, but I've been told it's the absolute best you can buy and haven't seen anyone regret their purchase yet. For those who have it, what is the one thing that makes your purchase justified?

1122TST is a winner. Just remember to do that first oil change, you'll be amazed at the quality of the kranzle. I don't have one bad thing to say about it. All I added were Quick Disconnects and a swivel for the handle.

I run mine around 1500. You won't get a lot of stuff off with just high pressure water. If you have the option to run hot water that's a different story but hot water washers are $$$$.

Build quality and performance tipped the scales for me. If you're looking for a pressure washer that can be used to strip paint off walls this isn't the unit for you and you're better off with a gas powered unit that can deliver that experience. I've purchased your typical Amazon special (Sun Joe, AR, etc.) and I was left underwhelmed. The unit leaked out the box and the build quality left a lot to be desired. It also felt like something I'd have to replace every 3-5 years. The Kranzle is not for everyone as it has a much higher price point than your traditional pressure washer and require some maintenance. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase.

This, a good quality foam cannon is a must have for me. I purchased a cheap pressure washer from Home Depot for $99 - these typically have a limited lifespan, about three years is my experience when washing two cars each weekend. The foam cannon is one of the best detailing tools I have invested in (aside from may Flex Random Orbiter), mine is really old now, but they hold up really well, especially the MTM product/s.

As others have stated here, you don't need more than 1 500 PSI. My routine is to pull the car onto the driveway, clean the wheels (P21S Gel), then I pressure wash the car, then foam, and using a presoaked microfiber mitt, wash the car by hand (no bucket required as the foam is plenty thick and moist). Finish by pressure washing off the foam residue, pull the car into my garage, and dry with my MetroBlaster. Wipe down any remaining moisture (doorjambs etc) with a Large soft microfiber. Check out the foam cannon here (the Honeydew is very, very good): https://www.chemicalguys.com/MTM_Can..._p/eqp_304.htm

Happy Washing! PS: I concur with other here that the Kranzle is the Rolls Royce of pressure washers, I am close to buckling and investing in one of these: http://www.kranzleusa.com/product/13...00-psi-2-1-gpm

I currently have this Greenworks pressure washer along with their soap applicator which is pretty much like the MTM/Chemical Guys foam gun attachment. Should I try using the MTM foam cannon instead? I mean my car does get a great amount of soap suds using the Greenworks soap applicator

Where are folks finding the best deals on the Kranzle washers? Best I've seen is 15-20% off.

You can use the electric pressure washer at a set PSI ranging from 1200-1900PSI will not damage your vehicle. According to experts 1.4-1.6GPM pressure washer is good.

The cheapest I've seen it for in the last 6 months is $1,190. Most of the DD sales I've seen in recent times exclude Kranzle. I picked mine up for ~$1,000 shipped.

I'm using a SunJoe 4001 pressure washer. So far it has been great. Certainly not as nice as a Kranzle, but it was around $150-$200 bucks. I've never seen or used a Kranzle, but I'm sure it is significantly nicer than a SunJoe.

I also got a CR Spotless dual canister system which I love more than the pressure washer.

But they go hand in hand, as the pressure washer uses significantly less water compared to hooking the CR straight to a hose, which makes the filters last much longer.

How long on average do the filters last for the CR?
