12mo service, is it due 12mo after purchase or break in service?

Bought my car 12mo ago last December and had the break in service in February. I don't put that many miles on the car so my next service will be based on months.

My SA says the service is due 12mo from the break in service (so basically in Feb) but my car computer is saying it's due in December.

Who's right?

Any thoughts on this? I'm assuming the SA is right as it would make sense to start counting months after my break in service, however, I wonder why the car computer is telling me to schedule an appt while they clearly reset it when I went in for the break in service.

My car purchase and maintenance timeline sounds just like yours. BMW Connected Drive is saying December 2018 for service. I made an appt for this month with no pushback. I would schedule service per the maintenance reminder and not the SA. BMW tends to try to act funny when warranty claims arise and scheduled maintenance wasn't performed per the schedule.

Thank you, I'll call them again and see what they say about this.

Its 10K /12 months from the date car arrives in dealership and during break in service they do not reset service interval . It's the same with me and had my car serviced today as per CBS notification. Your SA is wrong , go by what the car says
