I think you may get more interest if you show the value proposition of buying your car vs. a new car.

It looks like $77k is pretty much MSRP for this car and even though it has <50 miles on it, it is still considered "used" which usually decreases the price of cars. Although a potential buyer may not incur dealer fees as you did, they will incur other fees such as financing at a higher interest rate due to it being "used" and potentially transporting the car to their home if not in your area.

Also, most buyers can get a bit of a discount on these cars purchasing from a dealer, at least 2-3%, so again, you have to show the buyer why it is better for them to buy your car vs. a new car with the same specs at a lower price / total cost of ownership.

I will never understand why people become "price moderators" on this forum, especially when they're wrong. The OP clearly stated why this is a fair deal. Sales tax is around $4-5k on this car alone (Depending on what state your in). Not to mention, a dealer charges a range of $450 to $1k in fees before driving it off the lot. Lastly, if you have an opinion that would hurt a potential seller's chances of selling the car, just keep it to yourself. Bump for a great guy and fair deal.

Not trying to moderate anything. In fact, all I was saying was that it might be a good idea to inform buyers why it IS a good deal so that everyone is clear. His car at $77k could be good deal, or not, I'm not saying either way. I'm not sure why you think that is wrong .

Also, something YOU should understand is this is a blog open to comments where anyone can post whatever they want about price or anything for that matter. I'm sorry you don't like that but if the seller didn't want comments he or she can post on cars.com / autotrader etc...

It's a good looking car OP. I almost went with YMB but I think SO looks better on the coupe.

FALSE...entirely depends on the state you're buying FROM. As a NY resident, if I buy used and go to register that car, i'm paying sales tax on the purchase price. Sure you can understate the price a little bit, but within reason or they will flag you and determine the value on their own.

That said....GLWS to the OP. Although I think you're crazy, it's a beautiful combo.

This car is worth 70k. Don't bitch about price moderators. That's what it's worth. Don't put prices that make other people put up unrealistic prices. This is a forum for a reason. If you don't like people responding to your price then put it on autotrader. They don't have a comment section.

The car is titled and 75% of states make you still pay tax. Actually 77k is over msrp.

Thanks

Not sure what to say about that asking price...you can buy this car new for 70K at dozens of dealers right now...many are selling at invoice or less than invoice now with current incentives....M3's are 2K cheaper than M4's also.

You still need to pay sales tax on used cars....

Of course its up to you what you put as the sales price, but some could call that tax evasion... a federal crime

In CT it doesn't matter what you put, if your sale price is lower than their BlueBook (or whatever comparative tool they use), they tax you on whichever the higher price. Jerks haha.

OP: The struggle is real with us car guys. You have an absolutely stunning car. I'd look into a really nice vinyl wrap if you're not getting any bites on your price, as you can change the look while still retaining that GORGEOUS color combo you have.

while SDSHAH does seem to enjoy trolling around and throwing statements not necessarily backed by any facts on other peoples classified posts, I agree that people should be allowed and encouraged to comment and do a bit of price moderating.

While 77k does seem a tad high, asking MSRP is not out of the picture, so SDSHAH, you are wrong. You are not able to order m3's right now, most dealers have no allocations. Will he get 77k? probably not... if he happens to come across somebody that just got a nice bonus check and wants an m3 asap ( with those unique color cobos) he might get pretty damn close to it.

ALso, OP, why are you selling, did you really have that much of a change of heart in the 44 miles that you drove it?

are you trying to make a profit? if so, thats fine, just a bit curious why you'd sell after the hassle of going to the dealer and dealing with everything

I'd wrap it vs taking the used car beating.

In Texas on a used car private to private, you may "SPV" - a value set by the state comptroller. You can say $10K, but if the SPV is $70K - you're paying tax on $70K.

EDIT, you also aren't considering that you cannot transfer the Maintenance plan without incurring a cost ($1850 IIRC for F8X). So again, a new vehicle is a better deal.

The primary motivation behind me selling is not to make a profit (that would be an added bonus) but I have my sites set on a telesto F80. Not loving the Yas color.

Azula, just curious what's the catch here? I remember helping you immensely when you were price hunting for the best deal possible or your 2015 M4. You ended up buying a 2015 M4 at a great deal which you sold with less than 1000 miles. If you sold it for close to what you listed it for, you easily at a minimum broke even on your total price for the car including the ED trip.

Now I see this M3 that you just bought via ED listed for sale with barely any miles on it and again looking at the price, you are looking to break even at a minimum. Is this going to be a trend for free Euro Delivery's, all expenses paid? If yes, then cheers to you. However, I do feel a little let down because when I helped you on extensively you on this thread.... http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1066278 I was genuinely doing it thinking I am helping a rookie (on pricing) fellow member. At the time I did not think this would turn into a buy/sell trend. So this is a little disappointing to say the least. I know what you do with your cars is no business of mine but I do feel the need to point this out.

I would also like to point out to fellow members that you can do an ED yourself for the same or lesser price and get the complete euro experience. You just have to do some legwork in getting a good deal.

For those who don't have the patience, go for it.

Not trying to shit on your thread but just spoke my mind here.

The above said, if you genuinely trying to sell your car because you have your heart set on a individual color, then I sincerely apologize and good luck to you. But please realize how this looks when you sell a 2015 and a 2016, both well under a 1000 miles. Doesn't seem normal.

Cheers.
