thats what i thought at firs,t but that white reservoir thing on the left side of the engine in the F30 335 looks like it would get in the way of the brace

So are they sticking with the same HPFP from the N55? Please tell me they've finally fixed the HPFP...

Should fit, that reservoir looks as to sit below the wiring "loom"(don't know what its called) and the brace itself sits over the "loom". Since i noticed that both cars have the same "loom" in similar positions, granted thats only if they are mounted in the same place.

But first, how can you say the price is near the GT-R which starts around 100k where this car will start around 60k? That's a nearly 40% difference and I can say I might be in the market for this vehicle and DEFINITELY not a GT-R due to the price alone.

About the American muscle, I feel like a lot of people buy these high performance german cars and not their american counterparts because I feel like a lot of people are looking for the total package. Some American cars match these cars in performance but dont provide the total aural experience and luxury. How many times have we heard people complain about the cheap-o interior on american cars?

Remember an M3 is not a go-fast machine, it's a highly emotional and high precision tool (or at least we expect it to be lol). My E46 M3 is dated as many "regular" cars have 333 horsepower now. To top it off it's a vert so its not the fastest car out there. But I don't get the same feeling driving my friend's Camaro that I get from driving mine. Its just different man.

I'm not sure if I'll buy this new one though unless it gives me that same feeling.
$96k gets you a GT-R that comes ready to go for maximum performance offered from the mfg. If you want the top of the line track performance for the M3, you're going to have to dole out about $75-80k for this guy. I imagine BMW will come out with a CCB package, sports package, magnetic suspension, DCT upgrade, extra bracing and add-ons and you name it.

Obviously it won't be a GT-R competitor. Not even close. But the GT-R is HIGHLY competent as both a tourer and a track monster 2+2 saloon car. What's $15k when you're dropping $80k already? My point being, BMW needs to offer people more performance for their dollar these days. Performance is getting cheap from all angles in the car industry.

What's next? An M with KERS?

And it sounds like shit on toast! Had the same issue with my X6M. At least E92 M sound great standard and even better with an Akrapovic

X6m just sounded abnoxious with Akrapovic and DPs and I fear the same will be with this new M3

Looks like the N55 for sure but highly modded. Sorry but it's gonna be the Twin turbo AMG V8 for me in the next C63. Now thats an engine. Tuned = beast. Sounds much better too.

Not many of us here can extract all of 240hp out of the e36 m3, let alone 450hp f80 m3.

What I care the most is the weight, the steering feel, & on & off track performance. The rest is just useless bragging rights.

Cant wait to see the official specs & the actual car in person. I was gonna jump boat to Porsche on the next car, but the more news about the F80 m3, the more I like it.

BMW, Keep the weight of your pigs down please !!!

BMW claims that this car will be lighter, the engine will have more power so there are enough reasons to be trustful

Take the M3 and the Camaro around a few corners and the difference will be clear

I guess this is the major change from NA M3's of the past. The FI brings in much more low end torque. Hopefully the maximum power will always be at the upper end of the rev range.

There will always be Akrapovic to improve the exhaust note if necessary.

No.

Neither look very good at all.

Audi's RS4 engine looks much better. Even their 3.0T engine looks better.

IMHO - this is a huge win.

My big fear was that this car would be a street queen given the turbo engine/resulting heat issues. A2L goes a long way to making this a trackable car.
How's running hot coolant to cool the intake air temp more effective than a fmic that's exposed to much cooler temps (relative wind) than hot coolant?

It appears the new heat exchanger is in the way of a traditional cross brace.

I'll bet the V-8 M3s become collector cars in a few years.
