IMO it makes the interior look a lot better. The standard/smaller lower resolution screens in the F30 looks really bad
I almost think its not even offered in the US |

i think this has become a preference, rather than a need.
for me, i would prefer my new M3 has Nav, as i have been driving cars which were equipped with Nav since my first. |

Do you want navigation or do you want a navigator? You or someone else holding your phone and reading off what to do or listening to Siri's voice cranked with your music turned down so you can understand what your next move is...that's a navigator.
If anything at all, simply having the navigation put your next direction on the HUD is simple reason enough to get the navigation system. Keep using your phone if that's what you want but anyone spending this kind of money on a car should always have navigation. Also, think about when you are out in BFE and have zero cell reception.... Food for thought |

I use my nav mostly for just finding twisting roads to explore, traffic updates, and finding alternate routes quickly. I also really enjoy having the nav up on my HUD (shows what lane you should be in). That way I can start my route and then have pandora or whatnot up and I can see where I need to be without looking away from the road.
That said.. My nav does try to get me to drive to San Antonio, From Austin, to get to Houston every once in a while (that would add 2+ hours to the trip). I use my phone as a sanity check and backup when I planning trips. Love nav, love being able to 'send to car', love hud, and could never go back to suction cupped iPhones. |
