Buying a high mileage M4 - what should I be aware of?
Looking at picking up a high mileage (over 50k) M4 to replace my 4.2L Audi S5. I don't put a lot of miles on my cars, so not too worried about increases from here on out.
Any horror stories? Car will still be under warranty, but anything I should be worried about? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks much. Hoping to be an M owner soon. |

OP is in Houston, Texas. Likely CPO car so that takes warranty up to 80-100K miles depending on the dealer. I would not care much as long as you have warranty on the car to cover the first year of ownership in case shit happens in that time frame. I would also want to see if there are any service records for the car and of course Carfax info... If all checks out the mileage is the least of your concerns. Makes for a cheaper car to buy too which is a plus. GL OP

Thanks all. Will let you know how it works out.
And I just got tired of the S5. Ready for a change. Can't find a CPO RS5 anywhere near me...I do like them though. Also looked at a C63 coupe and RC F. M4 just felt right when I drove it. |

Honestly i wouldnt buy a cpo or used m4 unless you are a very good bmw tech yourself or have a connection.
People who lease these cars mod these cars and beat the crap out of them and then turn them in. I know people running meth, custom tunes, and racing them all night long. I know not all these cars will blow up but some may. Just my two cents. |
