Anyone daily their track Pads?

Hi guys, those of you who have track focused pads... i.e. DSUNO's, DS1.11's, RS29's etc..

Do you daily these pads? or do you swap them in and out before and after your events?

Apart from the noise and squeal? any other issues?

D

My RS29's scare most people and make me unpopular in my neighborhood. Otherwise no issues.

I have Hawk DTC-70s on the front and Ferodo DS2500s on the back. I don’t bother swapping pads anymore, although I suspect the front rotors will wear more quickly. There’s very little noise. I have also daily driven Pagid RS29/RSL29, and besides the horrendous squealing, they worked fine.

Depending on the aggressiveness of the pad, you will see increased stopping distances as most track pads work best when they have some heat in them. All pads will be different. I do swap mine at home to drive to the track and am just extra cautious when in traffic. YMMV.

Yes, I leave PFC08’s on my M4 and previously did on what ever car I was taking to the track.
I haven’t had any issues other than noise.

Not something I personally would ever do. Aside from the ridiculous amounts of noise/squealing, the dust produced by many race pads is extreme and corrosive. Some pads like Hawk DTCs are even known to destroy the wheel finish if it gets wet and you don't clean it off right away. Changing over pads for track days is a minimal amount of work, WAY WAY WAY less then having to having to constantly clean your wheels. Let's also not forget the cost factor - good race pads are $600 a set, good street pads are maybe $150. Why wear down uber expensive pads just for tootling around town

Ended up getting pagid rs29's... installed and bled in less then 45min at home

Didn't realize how easy it is to remove and change the pads all round.

I'll probably change them over as needed from OEM TO RS29's and vice versa.

If they give me the sh#ts after on normal roads I'll change them over...

Cop at a breatho said "loud brakes". "Race pads"! I proclaimed. RS29, but my "daily" is only driven at 10 tenths so no point swapping back.

They are *rs29's* squeaky and squealy. But not too bad actually just a little brake modulation and downshifting and it's not bad at all.. but they feel great on the street in everyday use so far. Might just leave them in there after the track.
