YMB Owners and Stares?

I get tons more attention with the YMB versus when I had the AW. All positive. Knock on wood haven't been bothered by the cops in the YMB but did get nabbed in my AW.

Couple months in. All positive interactions!

Observations:
-Police definitely notice but more admiration than suspicion. May change during the warmer seasons
-Tons more attention when weather is warmer (probably universal with any car/color)
-Young kids smile and point
-Young adults give thumbs up and take photos
-Double takes everywhere
-When windows down, bystanders voice their comment
-Chats at gas stations
-Drivers are more friendly towards me (getting out of the way in the left lane, allowing me to yield at intersections, etc.)
-Can't drive like a jackass often since people can easily pinpoint who you are and where you live
-No tints yet -- feel really strange sometime with so much attention

You guys are absolutely killing me here. I'm still waiting for my YMB M3....word is next Tuesday. But at least I got some stares and positive comments during my ED. In person, the color is amazing!

People seem to love the colour over here especially the way it changes it different shades of light. Must admit I was seriously in two minds about it, but it's really really grown on me. Love it!

It continues to grow on me too. I love how it varies so much in different conditions. I'm glad I got silver wheels with mine too.

Me too! The first one was taken by somebody who knew how to take pictures, had the right equipment, and who knew how to play with exposures, apertures, etc. The second pic was taken with my trusty iPhone6, and I was rushing. LOL!

Was just in Times Square this past weekend, and I can't tell you the amount of pictures that were taken of the car!

I pulled over at one point with my friend who has a Aw f80 and people were having a field day taking pics of our cars together!

Had the car for just over 3 months now. YMB definitely turns heads, and today I had yet another guy pull out his cell phone while following me to take pictures, watching his phone more than the road.

It wasn't specifically related to the color, but the best reaction was when I was picking up my daughter from daycare right after I bought the car. I was at the door to the daycare house, out of sight of the road, a car rolls by slowly and hear the driver say to his passenger -

"BRAND NEW MOTHERFUCKING M3! THAT SHIT'S TIGHT YO!"

Picked this up for my wife day after Christmas '15. Bright sunny day in Orange County. Wife said "the blue one...with the exhaust" (came with titanium MPE).

She gets lots of positive compliments from from all walks of life...Costco gas lines on the weekend is fun.

Hues are off due to temperature of lights and some light post processing.

This thread almost had me regretting going with MG....but I had to have my SO interior, and just couldn't pull the trigger on that combo. Too much for me. I still think MG/SO is the best combo. But love YMB. It's what sold me on the M3

Believe me, I would love to, except that my current lease isn't up until September or October. I'm planning on a September ED for a YMB M4. I sort of started this thread to help confirm my color choice (I didn't really like the rust tones of the SO when I saw it in person and AY is just too yellow for me), but reading these types of threads just makes the wait that much more painful.

My 16 ymb M3 will be here in 3 weeks!!! Think i may have to get the windows tinted.. This car/color combo is just too hot!!

Do it, it looks good and is really helpful for keeping interior temps down, if you live in that sort of climate...

Took it out last night on a Friday night and people take pictures. Very happy with the color. Car was never my build I just went to the dealer and shopped around on what they had. No regrets on the color

Looks great! What % did you do? Rears look darker than the fronts. Im in CT so sun/heat isn't really an issue.
