I love the look of the M4 concept, but the visual transition from the e92 isn't that dramatic. The curved lines of the M4 definitely draw your eye. The e46 which I still thinks looks great today - still looks better then half the cars on the road!
Don't know if anyone noticed the gas door missing on the e92 lol, it's a right hand drive.

I really miss the hood vent(s) from the E9X.

I think the M4 looks magnificent but there is no denying that the E46 looks like the best drivers cars with it's compact, taut and athletic look. The other two look like an evolution from sports to GT cars.

my impressions:
1) i actually i think i prefer the hood without vents, after having seen these pics 2) the f82 hood line looks even more egregious when comparing it to the e92 3) f82 stock (yes i understand this is a concept) looks better than practically every modded e92 i've ever seen (including my own) 4) finally bmw got their act together and included black grilles rather than the horrible chrome ones 5) someone make a lip like that for the e92 please. 6) someone please make a replacement hood/bumper for the f82 please, so we can get rid of that horrible line. 7) f82, to me, is aesthetically far ahead of the e92.

I completely disagree, I think the new "Aurum Dust" has way more green undertones.
Edit: just realized that the reflections from all the grass surrounding the F82 on the concourse could add to the green undertones I am seeing in Aurum Dust.

That hood split looks like a receding hairline. The G56 M3 will be in the middle of the hood... Still like it, but still...

This new M4 would look so much better without that hood split... what an eye sore...

Hood cut line on the M4 is awful, like a C-section scar... Otherwise the comparison helps show how much of an improvement the M4's rear styling is over the E92.

It's because they flipped the picture. Notice the license plate insert and the M3 logo. They flipped it to get an accurate representation of the side profile for each vehicle.

That hood cut line. Jesus. It totally ruins things and these pics puts it into perspective. I think I've read that it's due to the design of the front end having to meet pedestrian impact laws, but why they couldn't make the cut line the same as the E92 is beyond me.

The classic kidney grills of BMW are gone. They have evolved into a front end that looks like a whale shark
I guess with forced induction you need the big ass grill on the front. the front end is too bulbous

I guess I'll pile on about the hood cut line. I used to think that the trunk lines on the E60 were the worst such lines on a BMW, but I think the F30 tops it, and this concept is especially bad. It reminds me of the bumper end caps on cars from the 80's, which started to looks really bad in the 90's and beyond due to fading and oxidization. It may be that BMW can improve on this for production, but I'd have to stick with darker colors to try to hide that ugly gash.

The F82 is pure SEX!
I do have to say that the gaps in the lines seem a bit wide, don't know if its the color that makes them look like the grand canyon or not.

I think the M4 looks fantastic, with the E46 as a close second. The only part of the E46 that looks dated to me is the side gill, particularly the "grille" on it.
