For me, if possible:
2NK – M Carbon Ceramic Brakes (if not more than $5k)
2VF – Adaptive M Suspension
2VY -19″ Light Alloy Wheel Double-Spoke Style 437 M with Mixed Performance Tires
322 – Comfort Access keyless entry
610 – Head-up Display
5DL - Side and Top View Cameras
688 – Harman Kardon surround sound system
6NS – Enhanced USB & Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration
459 - Power Seats
4MC - Carbon Fiber Interior Trim
494 - Heated Front Seats
609 - Navigation system
ZMT - Manual Transmission
Lighting Package (ZEP): 552 – Full LED Lights w/ 5AC – Automatic high beams

I'd consider the cloth/leather interior, but I bet I'll have to get leather for some of the options I want.
Slim to no chance it'll cost under $5k for CCB. Don't see why it wouldn't cost the same as M5/6, which is $9250.

For me:
F80 - Yas Marina Blue / Cloth (after LCI)
Lighting Package
M-DCT
ZCP when released
Stand alone heated seats
European Delivery

Question

Just give me a bare bones one and I'll be happy.

Any idea when we could actually do pickup? I'd love to be able to put my ED order in by the end of Dec.

I think everyone is gonna be shocked how expensive this car will be with options. I bet close to $90K for a loaded M4. Silly.

Why are you disappoint when the car has not been released yet. Plus, it's not a full spec list. It is for dealer's demo cars and as another member said the ZCP pkg was not available on the old M3 right after its release either (also the same case on the M5).

And what is SO GOOD about the Competition package in your opinion?

ETK of the F30 shows a Bowers & Wilkins sound system not yet offered in the 3- or the 4-Series. May be the F80 premium option.

ZCP package has more power, better handling, lowered ride height (looks better).

I find the whole concept of a competition package retarded and just a ///Marketing move to squeeze more ///Money.

the question is not why it's so good, but why it wasn't built with those packages from the start.

After looking at the options list, I'll option mine like this:
  • B50 – Sakhir Orange Metallic
  • X3DA – Sakhir Orange/Black Full Merino Leather
  • or X3SW – Black Full Merino Leather
  • ZEC Executive Package
  • 2VF – Adaptive M Suspension
  • 2VZ – 19″ Black Light-Alloy Wheel Double-Spoke Style 437M
  • 415 – Power rear sunshade
  • 688 – Harman Kardon surround sound system (..maybe, depending on cost)
  • 6AN – Concierge Services
  • 6NS – Enhanced USB & Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration
  • 2NK – M Carbon Ceramic Brakes (..maybe, depending on cost)

...and these items if they end up not being standard:
  • 459 - Power Seats
  • 494 - Heated Front Seats
  • 609 - Navigation system

ZCP does NOT have more power on the E9x M3. The handling is not any better (as demonstrated by skid pad tests). It does has a 1cm lower ride height. I believe it did come with the M-adjustable magnetic suspension, but that was an option you could order separately anyway. The Y-spoke rims are cool, but nothing you couldn't get on your own.

To be honest, ZCP is pretty much a ripoff. Save the $3k+ and just buy better springs and shocks. Your car will beat the shit out of an OEM ZCP M3 if you buy 3rd party track suspension.

My rationale is that all carbon costs are gradually coming down, plus the 3's brakes will be marginally smaller than the 5's because of the lower weight.

You are correct on everything including the ripoff part. ZCP for the M5 did come with a marginal power boost. Everything is speculation now, but my money is that the ZCP will come with a power boost on the M4.

A few things bug me.

1. No competition package? If it's what the E9x came with then it doesn't bother me, but my concern is that if it'll be something like what came out for the M5/M6, then it's really worth it IMO.
2. No true red or 'special' black. I was really hoping they would bring back hellrot and carbon.
3. The option list is disappointing. There are somethings that should be available alone.
4. Where are the lightweight seats!

I'd agree with the E92 part, but ZCP is becoming a substancial option again like it used to be on the E46. It's not just about the power (on a turbo engine, who cares), but they change things like bushing and a different steering ratio. Good luck trying to change that. Best thing is to bite the bullet and get it from factory. And if it's $3k, you get your money's worth than the E9x's Competition Package.

+1

I wonder if they will allow it to be retrofitted by BMW for the same cost. That would be really great for the people who buy the M4 from day 1.

doubtful, IMO the whole reason they don't offer it in the beginning is so you have to shell out more money to buy a new car.

Doubtful. Things like bushings and steering rack (if that's what they meant by different steering ratio) is not something that can be easily done. I guess it depends. If it's a lease, maybe not that big of a deal. But if like me you plan on keeping the car, then no brainer for me to wait.

Heck if anything, I'll probably have to wait to buy used. So somebody buy a ZCP F80 Yas Marina and take care of her until I can afford it
