Average wait time for individual orders - input needed!

Seems like for my individual color order it's going to be ~6 months - which seems abnormally high.

Based on your experience what is the average wait time to delivery from the date you ordered the car?

ok i got my allocation in april. My car just hit the paint shop today. The wait is real and it sucks. If a color or leather is important to you. Think and think again. If it still is go for it, and we'll be here to listen to when you need to rant.

OMG - so just getting to production after 4 months?!! this is insane. When are you scheduled for delivery?

does it make sense to get a 2017 MT in December of this year? or wait for 2018 starting in June of next year?!

6mos does seem a bit on the long side. What color/options are you doing?

it is nice --- but not sure about 6 months.

my dealership has emailed the folks in Germany on this as he was surprised himself... let's see what the response is.

I placed my order in early June but told my SA I wanted to wait for the 2017's. Signal Green zcp week 34 production hoping it'll be done this week. I guess it comes down to how truthful your agents are thats why I went with Steve Thomas

There are several threads regarding individual orders and the time they take.
My salesman told me to add 10 to 12 weeks for an individual colour and 3 to 5 weeks for an individual interior on top of the normal delivery time, which is 2-3 months at the moment.

So 6 months can be, but not has to be. It all depends on your / your dealers allocation.

I ordered my Nardo F80 with individual leather 02nd July and it will be delivered mid of september, week 37. First ETA date was december..

Agree with the above. I got July allocation so I am expecting late October/early November delivery. I was told 2 months delay because of individual color is the norm.

All allocations sold to customers for US delivery are P1. Just FYI

What car are you getting and do you have your allocation now? it doesn't usually take 6 months unless there is no allocation for you and your waiting for that, that may take months alone.

here is what my dealer sent me yesterday:

based on this - I had an allocation # in July - but the order was accepted on 8/17?! so a month and half after?

also how often the confirmed production date moves up?

Your BMW dealer didn't have an allocation until August. That's why it took so long to be accepted at AG status 111. That's how it looks to me.

Also your current scheduled production week is week 44 in November. You are probably looking at a December or January delivery.

I'm not sure. Maybe this delay to go status 111 is normal for individual orders then? Either way build week appears to be in November.

Mine took 5-6 months - I called BMWNA myself once every few weeks and when I did I would call 3 times to get 3 different reps - I always got a different piece of the story from each, so between the 3 I would more/less get the whole story. There were 3 or 4 big screw-ups/errors/mistakes that were cleared up because I was on top of it, but that was when the production line was just starting up.

Anyway, doesn't sound too far off, but my advice is to stay on top of it with BMWNA.

How did you call BMWNA? Or are you referring to genius?
