Seems like a good time to own an F80

Looks more and more like G80 will not see showroom floors until 2021, which makes the F80 a nice buy right now.

Pretty sweet I just purchased my first M3 2 months ago (a 2017) and it will remain the current generation for another [almost] couple years.

A '16 or '17 specifically seems feasible right now as far avoiding as much depreciation over your ownership. Plenty of low mileage cars out there.

I picked up my '17 with 24k and that's not even close to some of the low mile '17's out there, or even 16 and 15's.

No I may be mistaking but one of the "inside" sources are saying 2020 production 2021 release on floors.

I thought the plan was for first appearance at an auto show this fall with production starting next spring?

Well that's the other rumor. So I guess who knows, but of course I'm rooting for 2021!!!

This is why I just leased one of the last new F80s I could find. The lease on my 340i wasn't up for a few more months, but I was afraid if I waited, all the new/leasable F80s would be gone.

My 17 lease is up Jan 2020....I think I will refinance and hold on until the first batch of G80’s cycle through. OP you think that’s low mileage I just hit 10k on mines lol hence why I’m hesitant to give it back to bmw.

These MYs...

Can someone explain why an M3 CS delivered in Q4 18 is MY18 vs an M4 delivered Q1 2019 is a MY20. A few months apart = 2 model years....

When the G80 comes out it will be MY24 released 3 years after F80 MY18

The G80 is coming sooner than the OP indicates, IMO. The reveal is this fall, with possible online reveal this summer. I would not buy due to timing, buy because The F80 is a great machine. Personally, I like the 2015 models with the low-end punch and there were less options, so they weigh a little less, if you get a basic car with 6MT.

The value will only get better as we inch closer to the G80, but bang for buck F80 is hard to beat. JMO of course and as always YMMV.

Purchased my M3 December 2018.

The car is brilliant!!!

The next model will need to extraordinary in looks etc to have me reconsider.

No hp or torque numbers will make me switch.

My car bone stock!
