No Warning Tones Issue!
UPDATE..08/16/2024
Tried a working amp from a 2018 M3 CS Still no sounds (radio/door chime/seatbelt/reverse and can't ser date/time). QUESTION: The Part Number 65129390142 on the M3 CS amp is different than mine 65129366167 but the connections are exactly the same. 1. Do i need the M3 CS amp coded to make it work or it will NOT work at all as the part numbers are not compatible? 2. Do I have to find a matching Part Number and still have it coded to make it work on my car? Also. Called My local BMW and was advised to reboot system..pressed and held the power button on my head unit for 1-2-3 minutes and it won't reboot. All fuses appear in order. NOW IM STOMPED.. BACK STORY... I've got a 2015 F80 M3 and really hoping to get some input on my issue. Sorry in advance for the long post. About a week ago I got in my car and started it and and noticed that my rear taillights weren't working along with my brake lights and I cant unlock my trunk. I also noticed the "No Warning Tone" message so no sounds at all in my car, no door chime, reverse sound, nothing. And no Bluetooth connection either. But my head unit works and can change the radio stations. I was able to open the trunk manually by removing my rear seats and discovered that some rodents (mouse) was able to get in my trunk and chewed 2 wires which were connected to my Amp. Fixed those wires and secured the way the rodents got in and the now all my rear lights work!! Wohoo... But I still have no sound..... checked all the fuses and all looks good. Is my Amp Blown? Maybe I'm thinking the amp shorted when the wires were chewed. Just asking before I purchase this expensive Amp and then find out that it's not the amp.. Thanks for the time. and love the car but this is my issue and so Last edited by Jordan_Lopez; 08-17-2024 at 07:05 AM.. |

Have a close look at the two green plastic cables that go into the amp for rodent damage , you’ll need to take of the left trunk liner. Follow the path of the wires to the back seat as no doubt the could get in behind there.
One way to check the fibre is to get a Most loop back plug and a shell. By putting a loop back plug on the end the idrive will stop the “ chimes warning message “ . If you still get the warning then likely the Most fibre is damaged so you’ll need to run another one. If the warning message goes away then you’ll need to have a closer look at the amp. The F80 MOST bus is quite straight forward and runs in a loop . If broken audio stops. The AMP ( Tophifi / Harman Kardon ) has a single run that terminates on a connector behind the Idrive and that in turn creates a loop for Idrive and cluster. The other thing is to check the amp for any signs of rodent pee that may have made its way into the amp. If so it may have shorted out components in which case send it away to be repaired. I suspect though the issue is more likely to be the green cables as the cs amp should have worked. Have a look at this Most guide. You’ll get the basics of troubleshooting it without software tools. https://www.bavlogic.com/?p=3729 |

I’m in the same boat with my F82. However, water leaked into the original amp and it stopped working.
I’ve replaced it with a preowned oem amp. I tried to have it coded through a BMW coder but he says there’s no power going to the new amp so can’t be coded. I’ve checked the connectors and there is some corrosion which is why it’s not working. Still trying to figure it out. |
