Increased lease buyout discount from BMWFS

Did the exact same with my account. So now I have 2 payoff documents one from 9/3 good until 9/24 with the $5500 discount and one from today 9/14 without the discount good until 9/24.

Not sure what BMWFS is doing with these but when called BMWFS said that they will honor the payoff even now that my account isn't showing the discount. They also said they don't know why it disappears or shows up randomly. So I guess if you see the discount dl a payoff quote so even if it does disappear you still get the discount.

Thanks, yes I think I will contact them closer to the end of the lease. It also buys me sometime to decide about the next car if I buy the F80 out.

I spoke with BMW financial today and the discount is no longer available for the M3. They also said they are not sure if it will be offered again.

I've been checking regularly and haven't seen the discount. Was hoping it would pop up so it made my decision easy to keep the car, but now I don't know if I'll keep after the lease is up. Lease maturity date 12/2020

Apparently they made him CPO his car to get the discount. FYI if anyone wants to get it.

This is disappointing. I had been trying to find a good lease to take over based on this discount. The value of doing that is a lot less enticing without it. I somewhat expect it to come back with the g80 arriving soon. Hopefully people keep this thread active as to where there is or isn’t a residual discount.

I spoke to BMWFS today and they said the discounts ended yesterday and unless you already started the buyout process they cannot reinstate it. HOWEVER, the lady was nice enough and said listen, they probably wont be back October or November but keep a close look out for December as BMW tries to add sales before year end. Based on her experience they will be back in December

I just purchased mine on 9/11 with $5,500 discount from BMW. I Think BMW trying to force people to get the new ugly g80.

BMW was doing this to keep their lots from getting flooded during peak COVID. Fear was that a bunch of people would come to the end of their lease and say here you go without moving into anything else. You have to remember, in April, when this started in earnest it was complete panic. BMW was terrified of metal flooding their lots and car sales grinding to a stop. Now they are just dealing with reduced supply as the factories catch up.

That is simply not true. The discount has nothing to do with Covid. The discounts are all predetermined by BMW for whatever MY and model. There was a chart posted showing that. These discounts were decided back in 2017 for the MY2018.

Bmw pulling the discounts might have something to do with inflated used car values due to Covid.

I should have checked this thread last month....
My lease ends next month; I have one payment left.
The past 2 months I checked my BMWFS account payoff and was pleased to see it included a $3000 purchase discount.
I pulled up my account today and there is no longer any purchase discount.
I called BMWFS and was told that my discount expired in September. There was no recourse, despite my pleading.
That $3k was the deciding factor between purchasing vs. returning my car. I'm pretty disappointed

I'm interested on this as well, my lease ends on 2/24 and the discount could make the difference in buying or turning the car back! hopefully they come back on December as they mentioned before...

I've called BMWFS twice now ( yesterday & today) + went to 2 multiple dealers and all sources confirmed the discounts are done and they cannot honor the $3000 off on my 18' F82 ZCP.

The dealer also let me know they cannot do anything especially for the ///M series

If anyone gets anything different , please send over contact.

Doubt they'll bring it back with how the G8x made the F8x look a million times better/ more desired.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. I was planning on getting the G8x until I saw it. So likely there will be other buyers wanting to get into a F8x who don't care for the G8x.

This had nothing to do with Covid. These were predetermined discounts at the beginning of MY2018.

Buying out a lease in the low 40's on a 2018 is nuts! The used market those cars are now mid 50's! The used F80 market is so inflated
