Rock chips on sideskirts

Rock chips on my sideskirts are starting to piss me off. Thinking about getting it buffed, repainted, then ppfed. Has anyone else had this done? How much did this run you?

This is a great diy, it may seem daunting, but it really is as easy as he makes it look. If you decide to give it a try just be sure to use solvent based paint.

Are you running stock wheels or do you have spacers, aftermarket wheels?

Check the lower parts of your front door panels as well; if you are going the PPF route I would get that done as well.

In my case, I'm running a more aggressive wheel up front and found alot of rash on my side skirts/lower door panels which I was luckily able to remove mostly through a one-step paint correction.

Do a paint correction before you try the method above, you'll be surprised with the results.

I installed a set of arch guards from automotive passion in carbon fibre, more subtle and have done a good job at minimising the rash.

I also run carbon fiber mud flaps on the front only, to mitigate debris flying up hitting the side skirts and I also had new PPF re-installed over a wider area of my cars rear hips.

TLG mud flaps, too.

Both side skirts will run you ~$300-$400 in prep and paint. Assume this is you uninstalling them, too. Add in another ~$100 for PPF.

PPF is a MUST and I am completely stock. How much that costs depends on the product used and the coverage area you are applying it to.
I will say, it isn't inexpensive.
Having spacers or changing the suspension geometry will exacerbate the issue and should be taken into account to prevent even faster wear of the painted surfaces that are unprotected.
PS, the M performance style rocker panel trim, (side skirts) will help protect about 70% of rock chips. (at stock suspension)

Thanks for the responses everyone. Decided to have it detailed and PPF'ed at a local shop, total was 400 euros ($450). Looks great now! I will definitely take the mud flaps suggestions into account, will probably go for the TLG ones since they seem the least noticeable (don't want it to look like a rally car).

Appreciate it!

Something to consider, the stickier your tire compound is, the more rocks it's going to kick up.
