Looking for recommendations on a good charity for donating my ‘98 328i with 128k miles in good condition.
Is “vehiclesforveterans” good? Gary Sinise does TV ads for them. Or other organizations? The 328i just sits in my garage and only gets driven once a year so I think it’s time to say goodbye… (also pointless to continue to pay $1400 for its insurance) Any suggestions appreciated |

Charity Navigator ranks then well and they are listed by CarEasy, so it seems like you found what you are looking for, if their mission aligns. You can also search navigator for alternatives in this category.

Given the recent claw back of funding I would suggest your local PBS station.

Gary Sinise is a wonderful person and has very well run charities focused on Veterans. He took my grandfather flying as part of his Veteran flight program and it was an amazing experience. Can't go wrong with that route in my opinion.

I'm not saying anything bad about any of these charities, but it's hard to get much better than St. Jude. Not only are they completely on the up-and-up, but what they're doing is just angelic.
Trust me, if you've ever been in the situation of having a chronically ill child you know that the kind of costs it can incur can be astronomical. Now imagine that, like many Americans, you don't have the wherewithal to pay for it. It's your kid, and you'd literally do anything for them – it's got to be heartbreaking to know that they're not getting the care they need because you simply can't afford it. St. Judes is amazing. |

I'd suggest giving it to a friend or family member that could use it. It would be a great first car for a kid. Any charity you donate to is just going to sell it at auction and it'll probably go straight to the wrecker. Waste of a good car.

I give monthly to both St Jude’s and Gary’s foundation. Both outstanding choices for your donation.
