Exhaust with burbles, pops, bangs and snaps

Hi guys

I know this topic has been covered a number of times (and yes - I did a search before posting!), but as most owners have previously mentioned the car needs a little more noise.

I am looking for a full exhaust to replace the factory one that still retains the iconic M3 rasp but has slightly obnoxious characteristics like burbles on the over run, snaps during gear changes, pops and bangs every so often and overall increased volume.

Assuming most can be achieved with a tune, catless down pipes and non-resonated pipes - but am wondering if I can achieve all of the above with a full exhaust replacement?

Would appreciate any recommendations or product links for a new owner to the F8X platform.

Thanks in advance.

I have the Valvtronic equal length exhaust coupled with a bootmod3 stage 1 tune, OEM downpipes and gts burbles and I think it sounds great, and not obnoxious. I could add more burbles via tune if I want to. I think those that do the downpipes in addition - it's just too loud and obnoxious IMHO.

I went to pick up some parts from a guy who was parting his out and he heard my car and his first question was what downpipes I've got. It sounds great.

Obnoxious.. .gt more exhaust from bimmerworld. I registered 114 db at 2500 rpm and 125 at full throttle.

Am I the only one that loves the sound a set of catless downpipes and factory comp exhaust make on full song? Rasp isn't that bad!

OP, I suggest trying this out, deepens the factory sound and still has some rasp; over runs/burples galore in Sport and Sport+ modes on BM3

Thanks for your feedback!

I noticed you're from Sydney also, which catless downpipes did you go with and where did you get them from?

A fellow Aussie! Rare on these forums haha; my car has MODE downpipes, all catless are pretty much the same. These were installed by the prior owner but can easily be sourced online.

Thanks so much! Yes, there only seems to be handful of fellow aussies on here these days.

Appreciate the info, I might check out the Mode downpipes.

Would love to also get that snap sound during up/down gear shifts. I get it every so often now with the factory set up.

But being the mature hoon I am, I want more bang! haha

I have the AWE SwitchPath and I love it but if you want the raspy tone then it's not for you as the AWE muffler makes the S55 tone more bassy.

As far as pops/bangs, that is mostly software. The OEM BMW Comp/ZCP/CS/GTS models all have a certain amount of pops built in, but "base" F8X don't. I suggest a CS map from MHD/BM3.
