This is almost the exact setup I'm going for. I'm not sure about the 19" on NYC streets, but I would like CCB. I can't get CCB without 19" and 19 means dents and popped tires for sure :/

That why I opted for the side and top camera. I park on the street in DT Miami.

I edited my post - it's the potholes I'm worries about. Only way to fight that is with more sidewall. Any suggestions, how I can get 19" without pothole damage?

Buy the tire insurance from the dealer. It's like 1500 for term of lease and they cover all tire damage and will replace as many times as you like. Forget the name of the company. I'll find out. The one I bought was from Hendrick auto group in NC and they cover 4 claims I think. The dealer here told me the 3rd party coverage they use covers unlimited. Says he has a guy that's been in 10 times.

Strength of the wheel in question is more important than 18" vs 19". My M3 (and M5) is 19" and has covered some of the crappiest city roads around for many years now. My friend with an E63 AMG with stock 18s has had THREE wheels replaced which bent. Reminds me of the 18s on the B5 RS4 which also used to wilt at the mere sight of a pothole.

All else being equal (including the tire height), a forged 18" BMW wheel will resist damage better than the same wheel in a 19". But unless tire pinch is your concern I wouldn't shy away from the stock 19"...it's what I'm going for again.

Absoultely a must have in NYC. I had this for the 07 335 with sport package. I think the wheels were 17" and I dented all 3 rims and blew out, bubbled actually (run flats) 3 or 4 tires (I forget). All covered by the insurance.

I just hate to mess up M rims and waste my time at the wheel shop.
With the 11 wrx and 45 series profile tires, not one dent.

Were the 07 335i wheels forged? Those dented like crazy when I had her in 07. I can't imagine the 19's holding up any better if produced the same way?

I highly doubt (though I'm not positive) it give that even many recent M3/5/6 wheels have not been forged. The F8x wheels are though.

Snaps from video review posted by zarehs27. Images look almost instagram-ish, but still worth a look!
