Cheapest GTS in Europe (at least on AutoScout) is at 110k EUR = $130k USD.

The values are already quite strong in Europe.

A European CoC (Certificate of Conformance) from BMW is only $130 - I am quite surprised more cars have not been exported. Even with VAT/duties, an $80k car here would be ~88k EUR. It's definitely a bit of a hassle for seller/buyer, but both could do pretty well on that transaction. It's certainly an avenue I will explore when it's time to move on.

Ya, that seems like an impulse buy or maybe the deal terms (trade value etc) worked for the buyer. 12k miles is not high in the grand scheme of things so hope the new buyer enjoys it.

That’s a really strong price. Hope the buyer at least got a CPO warranty thrown in, as those are all mostly coming off original warranty now

Super expensive to import into Europe. Even in an uncivilized country like Spain (where I'm from) you're going to pay 20% VAT + 15% carVAT to even begin the conversation. And they'll base VAT on whatever the hell they want, probably market price in Europe.

If you're a Spaniard returning to Spain and you've owned the car for over 6 months there's a slight break, but overall still a tough thing to do.

Growing up over there I permanently fantasized about bringing American cars over.


EDIT: I will say this though, if I have to go back to Europe due to unforseen circumstances I will sell all my current cars including my beloved mint Montecarlo blue E92 and buy two GTS

less cost than if you're not originally from Europe. You need to hire a company to do it. An ex-gf's parents brought the Porsche they had in the US back to Europe, it can be done

To bring one to Germany, the total cost is price of car + 29% VAT + other costs (CoC, shipping, etc). That's definitely a lot.

But the cheapest one in Germany is $130K. And you can get very good examples in the US for $80-$85k. Even with the hassle of international purchasing, shipping, duties, VAT, obtaining a CoC and legalizing the car, you still are saving a significant chunk of change.

Shipping is maybe $2k containerized, CoC is cheap ($130), the car + VAT is around $110k.

Saving 15k EUR seems like it might be worth it to someone. And that's just using the cheapest car in the Euro market. The price for a typical low mileage car in Europe is probably closer to $150k.

Wow! Just Wow... I mean, great for some of us that have these cars... but I can't believe anyone would overpay by that much, when there are much better options out there.

Very true. Going up fast in Europe. Cheapest one is at 130,000 and up to 200,000+
Check www.theparking-cars.com and you can search for bmw m4gts by country.
Prices have been rising significantly in the past few weeks.
That car is a keeper though...

ya i dont care about values, its definitely a keeper. checks all the boxes for me, but most important its fun and entertaining to drive. ive driven many more expensive cars that i didnt enjoy.

Yes, I don't think I posted any pictures but mine is that color. I'll post a few, I just installed a tow hook type front plate mount because front plates are required in Texas. It isn't enforced very often but I've actually been pulled over in my GT 350 R 🤨
