Exhaust flap rattle?

Hi,

anyone able to assist with this? 2017 f80 m3..

been told that I need a replacement spring but the fella won't really tell me what I need without buying a backbox off him and using realoem can't see any spring listed he said he has a spare he could send me with backbox so may just have to pay but would rather not buy a new backbox if not needed

Unbolt the actuator and remove the barrel-spring thing. See if you can stretch the spring open a little more so it'll put more "push in" on the flapper. Reinstalling should take more force to align and bolt down, and the tighter spring should stop the barrel/flapper from rattling.

Last resort…I know Active Autowerke has both spring types (the U-spring and also the Barrel-spring) available if you ask Andrew nicely.

I'll need to try and hunt him down and see if they can assist!

it's going in tomorrow to get a midpipe fitted so will get it apart then and see if we can resolve it.
