So glad I found this DIY post - worked like a charm. Was able to borrow the puller from AutoZone and worked on the car tonight. I'm positive it took me longer to go to AutoZone and back than the actual exhaust tip removal/install.
Definitely use this method instead of hammering away at the tip from the back - crazy to even think that's a good way after this. |

Continuing this thread with my homemade puller insert. I finally got around to installing my sterckken diffuser and bms tips. Turned out sweet.
It's a 1 1/4" pvc pipe with coupling and caps totaling 5 1/2" long. I then drilled a hole and ran some aircraft cable through it and crimped it for a removal handle. |
