When you move to positive equity depends on your financing. Term, down payment, finance rate, etc. In general though, you tend to be upside down at the beginning, then move toward having equity as you approach the end of the loan.

It's not that the current residuals are low, the previous residuals were surprisingly high. BMW usually goes into the mid 60s only for end-of-model cars or when they desperately want to prop up sales volume - neither being the case for the M3.

In the current economic climate, any time you have a residual with a number beginning with a 6, it's good. Best to focus on other aspects of the deal.

I agree that 60's for residual are good, but (just an example) the 1-series had a +60% residual for nearly its entire run.

Are people actually upset about 62% residual on a M3??? go to Audi and Mercedes and see what their residuals are... What was the residual on the E92?

It's short for Penetentiary de Federale. It's a Latin American funding services that recycles the money they got from drug kingpins like El Chapo and Escobar. Cheap rates but you're never really safe...

My CA said that he doesn't expect the residuals to go up anytime soon, but I'm hoping they at least get bumped a percent or two over the next few months.

It's extremely out of the ordinary for a CA to tell someone anything resembling "things will be better in a month or two, so just wait."

I wish there was a chart with the residuals for the past year listed by month to have a better understanding of how they go up and down.

Some guy who claimed to work for bmw says the acq is going up. I wonder if the acq would go up even if the deal has been agreed on but the papers havent been signed yet.

Im schedule to go to my dealer on the first week of august (6hr drive) to sign the papers. I wonder if they would raise the acq fee on me. I even asked if they could mail me the papers so i can sign them and they said they couldnt and that i had to be present. Sounds like bs but whatever.
