I wonder how long the dealers have known about this. My dealer seldom has M3/4s on the lot and they have a bunch right now and none of them are preorders for customers.

Well, after talking with my CA advisor yesterday they said they are pushing in stock cars right now and if I'm going to order, wait until Jan 2 and they will give me a better deal. I'm fine with waiting a few more weeks but I'm really hoping I'll still be able to get Full Merino leather (M4). When I place my order, how long before I know if I'll be able to get Full leather?

Thanks

so was lucky to get a 2017 M4 vert yesterday car just came in and has only 10 miles and most importantly, no one has molested her on a test drive

will start a new thread after I pick her up and mod the shit out of her :

where did u get that info? don't think BMW, esp on a M3/4, will get rid of the manual anytime soon.

My salesperson confirmed this as well.

But that it would be an 8-month production break, starting in February.

8-month production break? I find this hard to believe.

do you think the ratios for F80 vs F82/F83 could change? seems reasonable considering F80s are short in supply. i guess it's such a niche market i don't think BMW cares too much

IIRC, the M3 and M4 are not built on the same production lines. I doubt they will change the ratios.

This really pisses me off.... I waited this long to make sure the LCI changes and any bugs/wrinkles get ironed out and the ZCP package to emerge and now maybe the front headlights are changing! WTF BMW!! So pissed!

I mean not to hate on anyone's personal viewpoints but why be upset? You may end up loving the 2018's "LCI" headlights?

Does anyone know when they will open up the order books for 2018? Like whats customary in the timeline to expect? I'd like to be first in line for a 2018 ED.

I'm willing to bet you could easily swap headlights with someone who has the pre LCI ones. Maybe even make a few bucks in the process. Someone with a 15-17 will want them.

Did you custom order it or did you choose something that was already on the way in? 2 weeks lead time seems really short?

All the write ups on euro delivery talk about doing an order at least a few months ahead of time. But to your point, 2 weeks you think is all the lead time you need to get an early July build?

Another checking if my order is affected post...

I placed my M3 order with full merino leather, with an allocation, in early November for Euro delivery in April.

Anyone have a sense if I'm affected? I'm waiting on my CA to answer me as well.

Not sure why you think they are in short supply? I did wait 2month for allocation but got it. Now I was at 1200 service and they had M3 on a floor. I asked - he said it was their build which means there was nobody to order it when they got allocation. Cars on a lots, no short supply. Definitely better then GT3RS or Mustang GTR
