My rule of thumb when putting aftermarket parts on my car is to only do so with parts that are of equal or better quality than OEM. What it comes to wheels if a company doesn't make motorsport wheels, they aren't an option for me. My short list include.

BBS - F1, LeMans, OE Supplier etc.

RAYS/Volk Racing - F1 Supplier, LeMans, BMW RLL, Nismo, TRD, JGTC etc.

Enkei - World's largest wheel manufacturer, F1 supplier (McLaren) and makes flow form wheels for a few brands including Advan, Weds and some forum advertisers here

Advan Racing - Forged wheels are made by RAYS, cast by Enkei and owned by Yokohama Tire

SSR Wheels - JGTC

This is just my personal list, YMV.

For wheels, I always seem to end up between BBS, RAYS/Volk Racing, and Advan Racing.

I owned a set of boutique forged wheels (USA made) once on a previous car, and that was the only set of wheels I've ever bent during daily driving.

I recommend Brixton Forged. Great guys, even better product. I just got my Brixton's on my M235i the other day and will be posting pictures of them soon. High quality stuff. If you want more information, I would be happy to set everyone interested up with some pricing, renderings and answer any questions! Check out some of the Bimmers they did below.

Personally still in love with my BC Forged in Black Chrome although because road rash is not possible to repair recently had them re-powder coated in Hyper-Black which is very close to the chrome effect and looks very nice indeed (may post pics at some point).

Update: Not really the thread tho be sharing this perhaps but here are BC RS41's repainted in Hyper-Black. Apologies for iPhone pics but lousy day, raining, overcast and car is filthy in garage overhead light - but you get the idea! Pics do not do justice and would compare with the top black chrome pics. Def not as nice as original Black Chrome but pleased with result.

Fabspeed, can you advise where brixton is sourcing their blanks from for the forged wheels?

We know where BBS, HRE, Volk, forgeline are using but some of these other brands are charging similar pricing but yet find enough details.

Brixton uses APP for their blanks. Same company that does Lamborghini's forging as well. Check out their process page below! :thump:

If you have any questions and if you are interested in getting set up, feel free to shoot me a PM!

Hmmm, There are a vast number of 'new' or 'newer' brands, I have used BBS, Fuchs, Volk/Rays, OZ, Teamdynamics, wolfrace, dymag and even TSW. The only problems I have had with rims were poor finish and lacquer peeling (BBS LM's), a few cracks on lighter ex race wheels however.

I agree your list are the better larger in the given jurisdictions, but what about ADV.1, Brixton, BC Forged, Signature, Vossen to name a few ?

I work very closely with Brixton and had a set myself. The quality and precision is incredible. Just put together a set for an MP4-12C as well!

Agree 100%.

I'll add that Volk wheels never look right on German cars IMO.

What do people think of BC forged vs the others listed?

Looking for a set of wheels for my Aston Martin Vantage but £8k for HRE or Anrky wheels or even £7k (Gbp) for Brixton is just too much to pay.

I have found BC Forged, Forgeline and AceWheels all offering forged wheels, so was wondering what people thought, I note they do not get many mentioned above.

My personal top 3 are HRE, BBS, and Brixton. I really want a set of FI-Rs, but I also need to run a 305 at the back, which might be a bit much for a 10.5" wheel. I'll probably end up with a set of good ol, tried and true HRE P101, unless I can con the folks at BBS into making me a one-off set of FI-R in 20x11.5.

Thanks. I just cant believe how expensive these wheels are. I am sure they are lovely things and I would love a set but replacing my OE lightweight forged wheels with bigger lightweight forged wheels for £8k or so is beyond me sadly.

Will just continue to look at the lovely products on here haha, and yes Brixton do seem to make a lovely wheel!

I have a set of BC Forged - two years old and still look brand new. My indy shop that mounted them said the quality is as good as any other wheel they had seen and balanced easily. I couldn't justify $10k for wheels when $3500 gets me what I wanted in regard to weight/quality. Just getting the 666m boat anchors off all 4 corners was a benefit!
