Ambient Temp Sensor Issue P10EA

Hello All. I have a 2016 F80. Warranty expired on Jan 1st and like clock work, the engine light comes on. I did notice last week that the ambient temp was 110-115 deg. I live in FL but it was way colder than that. I took into dealer and they said the sensor was not responding and quoted me $900. $140 for the parts and the rest is labor.. I politely declined. I found the sensor on fcpeuro.com for $28 and it looks like you have to remove the front end which isn't going to be that difficult. I will receive the sensor on Friday and plan on doing it this weekend. I welcome any advice from anyone that has performed this change out. Part numbers for the sensor and harness are below.

Temp Sensor - 65-81-6-936-953
Socket Housing w/harness - 61-13-2-359-999
Error Code - P10EA
