For M5/M6 it's almost the same thing OP mentioned plus new 20" wheels (instead of standard 19") and tuned steering ratio and modified MDM.

You are oversimplifying it. For M5/M6, it's a brand new steering rack. If you don't know what that means, that is basically pretty much a brand new steering system front to back. That's why it costs so much.

Anyways, I highly doubt BMW could swing a $5k+ ZCP for M3/M4. Totally different market. They have to find a package that costs 3-3.5k at most and that excludes wheels and/or steering.

This was in reply to vinspoon's Q if the comp. Pkg will be offered as retrofit, it was not about the content. Some of it can likely be done as dampers.

I'm getting a bit worried about competition pack now. My car is on it's way to Australia and I'm wondering if I should cancel it and use the deposit for ZCP M3!

Heard back from the dealership here in Kuwait about the Competition package. He says that they contacted BMW about pricing and availability but no information is yet available about ordering it. So this makes me question what he informed me initially about the the package itself and what comes with it.

Which exactly why you lease the first M4 for, say, 24 to 36 months and then buy the M4 with the comp pack after the lease is up... then hold onto the M4 w/ ZCP until the next gen M3/4

I found the suspension and stability of the F8X in base form to be better than my 2011 E92 ZCP... hopefully you feel the same in your car.

I really don't understand how BMW doesn't make engines like Porsche. For me a TT I6 engine should make more than 450 HP just look at the GT3 engine a whoopin 475 HP for a NA engine and the Turbo is over 500+.

IMO BMW have dropped the ball on this car and I think MB and Audi will have faster cars which is why BMW will be forced to response with a CP sooner than later.

Do you know how much that engine alone costs, not to mention the tranny to go along with it? I know how much my lowly 435 hp rated 3.8 ltr is, $38K. I don't think BMW can sell a $100K+ M3 at the volume they need. Number of GT3 sales compared to M3 is miniscule.
