Any of you guys running RaceChrono on your iPhone/Android?
I've been really liking the overlays a lot more than Harrys from the vids I've seen. Any complaints? Supporters? Other options?

I'm interested in what you think. I'm not loving the M Lap Timer App.

I like certain parts of M Lap Timer. I don't like how it integrates with GoPro and cell phone GPS doesn't refresh fast enough. The data it provides is pretty good without an OBD2 though. |

Out of curiosity, were you driving in auto mode on the gearbox? It seemed odd to see some downshifts on the exits of the corners.

Sequential. My fatigue shows in this video, so my driving is mediocre at best. Tech was 12 hours before that lap. Unfortunately it was the only clean lap I was able to get that day.

I left Harry’s almost 2 yrs ago for Racechrono Pro. It’s much easier to connect external devices and incoming texts, emails, etc don’t shut it down mid-session which is nice. I have it connected to a data logger and Garmin Glo. I just stole my kids Hero 5 Black and I’m not too concerned about it working since everything else has been so easy. We’ll see...
I’m team Android btw |

Been using Harry’s and not the greatest, but not bad either. 2016 video here (below) and made the mistake of adding image stabilization from my iPhone. Used external GPS and just upgraded to Grand Prix edition for GoPro integration + OBD - can’t wait to try it.

Give RaceChrono Pro a try if you can! I love it!! I even had an issue right before my last session where I couldn't connect to my gopro because I disabled wifi by accident. I recorded manually. Took me 5 seconds to sync it on the app. I spent so much time editing with Harrys.

Hi NYG-
Saw your vids in other thread. It inspired me to get this setup for my first event.I been wondering how you over lay the video. I was thinking it was done after the fact but by the sounds of it you need a gopro capable of connecting to your phone. Mine is a couple years old. Is there another way to do this? |

This video was from 2016 and yes, just with my iPhone. I have recently upgraded to GP addition from Harry’s and offers multi cam control including gopro. Have not tried the integration yet.

I am using a Google Pixel and a GoPro hero 3. As long as its not cloudy, the GPS is fairly accurate on the phone. You can actually see the phone running the app in this video.
Edit: I highly recommend to pair the phone with the bluetooth OBDII dongle, and display the speed that your car is reporting instead of using GPS. The GPS speed can be laggy at times. |
