So, not to revive the dead, but I just installed my BMS and the CEL came on today. Had it on the car for 4 days now. I'm wondering if maybe I need to rotate my pipe because it's hitting the MAF sensor and causing some sort of leak or disruption. Everything is tight as hell on the car. Check and rechecked everything. Thoughts?

Cable looks crushed a little, but it's still intact. Everyone I have spoken too thinks the MAF sensors just aren't seated properly.

I just installed this intake over the weekend. The fitment of the maf sensors was a pain, particularly on the passenger side. The o-rings felt too big for the mount, and required more force than I would have liked to get the sensor to fit into the pipe. I ended up having to start threading the screws with the sensor mostly out and let the screws push the sensor in while cranking on them. Definitely not what I would have expected for a brittle plastic sensor.

My problem now is cold start idle. I have cold start turned off in BM3, and the RPM will hunt a bit at idle, occasionally dropping down to almost stall before shooting up over 1000 for a second. It only does that once or twice per cold start, and seems fine once warmed up. Unfortunately I did intake, spark plugs, and cold start delete/reset adaptations at the same time, so I can't say 100% it's the intake. But if it were the plugs, I would expect more than cold start idle issues. And the behavior is classic maf symptoms. I just hope I haven't damaged the sensors by having to really jam them into the mounts on this intake.

If you are flashed your tuner can always adjust the MAF tables within the flash if you need to make compensations for cold idle.

I'm flashed, but only with the BM3 stage 1 OTS map. Is there anything specific I can log to verify its the tune vs a leak?

I plan on swapping back to stock intake just to make sure that's the culprit.

I doubt it's a leak, but since the intake flows more air the MAF reading can be off. During cold idle when its not using the o2 sensors yet that can cause some cars to get a little choppy for the first 45 seconds until the car warms up and goes to closed loop mode.

I don't know if BM3 has adjustment for intakes built in or what but the table your tuner would change would rescale the MAF reading for the higher flow intake.

I can’t remember the post, but someone said unplugging your battery for 10mins allows for the computer to reset... Has anyone tried that?

Actually really like the look of this intake. Have one sitting in my garage, but every damn time I install it the CEL comes on. Annoying AF.

I think BMS also fixes the fault in their back end flash map. How are you tuned?

I'm not tuned. Heard it can be hit or miss.

Yes it varies by ECU version. When you do tune the car, easy to fix at that point.

100% relates to cold start delete

Correct. But, I have another 1.5 in Germany and I'm not tuning it while I'm here. They are big on the whole warranty thing.
