I just checked the M3 virtual showroom and it seems the M3 and M4 rooms don't have the same info. From the M3 showroom:

I rarely ever come here and vent my frustrations with this company, but this pisses me off. The "production" car at the Philly show had contrast stitching. You can get it in a 328.

I'm surprised that you guys are surprised by this. This is so typical, especially in the first year when colors and options are limited.

We need some sort of official confirmation on this. I am considering black but will not buy it without the contrast stitching.

Another data point, the contrast stitching still appears to be present for the black sections of the M3 silverstone full leather interior, hopefully this sticks.

Upper dash, door handle, glove box, and side door stitching will match your leather's color.
If you get sakhir orange interior, those stitching color will change to sakhir orange.

Black leather was only exception to this as it was clearly shown with silverstone stitching on auto show cars (or even their official M4 interior video).

The M3 with black full leather still appears to get contrast stitching on the dash at least:

Excellent, thanks. Hope this works out for the folks wanting black w/contrast stitching.

I am not sure it does in the pictures you attached. The dash stitching of the black interior looks darker than the dash stitching of the silverstone interior. I know, this is very subjective, but nonetheless... I would really like to get some sort of official confirmation on this.

I agree that it looks lighter than on silverstone, hmm. Has anyone reached out to BMW to ask about contrast stitching on black, specifically on the full interior?

Just received confirmation from BMW Canada through my dealer. The contrasting silver stitching will be part of the "Individual" offering starting with July production. Further, it will only be offered along with the FULL Merino leather option and not with the extended option . They should receive pricing for the "Individual" stitching in the next few weeks.

That sucks. I feel that it is very close at being false representation on the part of BMW. The price tag/description beside the M4 at the car show did not mention this. Anyhow, it was most likely in the fine print .

So that seals the deal for me. Going with Silverstone interior instead. I am not willing to shed $2500 for full leather + $X for the stitching.

Can you confirm the July production for both the M3 and the M4 because as others have pointed out above, the M4 says not until 2015. I am hoping this is just a typo.

Wow, that really sucks. I'm probably going with Silverstone now, too. But this limits my exterior color choice since it doesn't fit with all colors.

If contrast stitching is around $500-1000 on top of full leather price, I might go with black leather with silverstone stitching.

Highly unlikely.
As mentioned above, some individual external paint and internal stitching options become available starting July 2014 production.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I want a M4 for the way it drives, not what color stitching is on the seats.

It is possible to want both. It is possible to even have a hierarchy with driving pleasure first yet still want the interior of a $70-80K car to be nice.
