The M8 is beautiful, but unless made of money pick up one off lease in a couple years. I have to imagine the depreciation on them will be horrific as always for a big dollar BMW.

+1 you will get much more bang for you buck, m8 will drop 30-40k in next two years, and your car wont lose much more now.

but then again...patience is too hard

I'd be curious what your thoughts are on the driving dynamics of the m8 vs your current m4. I've also had my eye on new m8. Give it 6-8 months and I bet they will be leasing very well. Or if you decided straight purchase I'm sure they will be heavily discounted.

I would definitely consider the M8 had it not been for he $150 price tag, other high end alternatives which I would prefer. But hey, still a sweet vehicle.

Random thought, but, if you're looking for a V8, how about a C63S? The M8 is cool and all but its a much larger car and more numb in its handling, not to mention for the size of the car the interior isn't really big either, and its priced like a 911, like others have said if you do end up getting one, your best buying used with a warranty of some sort, the M8 is gonna depreciate heavily. I also imagine an M5 would be pretty similar although a lot cheaper.

How about F90 M5? Seem to be a good value if you trade in the M4.

I am almost positive that you'll see that discount much sooner for cars under 5k miles.

Just like the s63 coupe the m8 isn't as hot as Bmw anticipated. The market for touring coupes with big engines aren't what they used to be especially at that price point. I have a deposit on an m8 and cancelled after driving a 911. A gt3 or if you have a few more bucks..the RS. Or even the turbo s is a great true sports car that won't depreciate as fast as the m8. And I'd venture to say the PDK will be more engaging than the auto in the m8

For 150K it’s 911 all day long....after a few years it will still be worth way more than the M8

I would only do it if it was a lease that you return after a couple of years. Have you ever heard of a BMW V8 that doesn't suck down oil like crazy?
