CCB noise fixed! ...with air?
I have the OEM CCB’s on my car and since day one of owning it they have always made two distinct noises. One, the standard high pitched squealing that you hear on a lot of cars which is slightly annoying but manageable and the other being this OBSCENELY loud groaning/squealing noise that honest to god was so loud not only could I hear it over my cars music at full volume but it actually made a lady and her dog jump one time as I was stopping at a stop sign. I’m talking horrifically loud.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I had my car in for plugs and an oil change (which they messed up but that was another thread) and when I got it back my SA said they had cleaned up the brakes the best they could cause I had mentioned the terrible noises. He said hopefully it helped a bit. Well a bit was an understatement. The loud horrific noise is 100% gone and even the minor high pitched squeal is at least 50% better. I was so impressed by it that the other day I actually drove up there to thank them in person and asked if I could talk to the tech that fixed them. I asked and he literally said “all I did was spray some air in all four corners and that was it man”. He said besides some dust and a bit of dirt he didn’t see anything fall out. So I thanked him and left. I absolutely am not mad at all that just some air fixed it but does anybody have any idea what possibly could have been the issue? I’ve seen several videos posted of ccb noise and it was just as loud if not louder than many of the videos I saw. Regardless, I’m thankful it’s been fixed and for those of you still dealing with the ccb noise I hope you get as lucky as I did! |
