Off topic, but these cars have been brought up from time to time when the GTS is discussed, so there may be a distant cousin thing going on. The Car: 95 BMW M3 LTW, after a long absence of any for sale there are now two being offered. EAG has one and one is listed on BMW National Club website.

This is the car that opened the eyes for many that BMW will "charge more for less" and the market hates it at the time of sale, but eventually people understand and it commands a premium. I think that really helped the CS in the F8x generation. "Simplify and add lightness..."

Very cool cars. Very few produced - less than GTS. Probably would be frowned upon but Id consider swapping a factory euro 6MT in place of the 5MT if it was one that had real miles and use on the odometer.

Apparently the BMWCCA offering had a new euro 6 speed, drive shaft and transmission mount installed early on its life.

Never driven an LTW, but they look fantastic. I never quite these special edition cars until I drove my F87C to a dealership and test drove an M4 GTS. I was so shocked these cars are even made from the same company.

As you mention, the initial price turns people away (I think my GTS had an MSRP of $149k due to carbon wheels), but I got it for around half the price. Not saying it's not a lot of money still, but for a limited edition car that drives like it does? Wow.

This is why I have very little doubt that the G80CS is quite a different monster than a G80 Xdrive.
