Very clever guys
I'm keen to add the magnaflow twins in my fabspeed mid Projects for Christmas holidays I'm too close to selling the car to bother with a full oe exhaust mod, but splicing in couple resonators to my aftermarket midpipe is easy enough in name of s55 science Where do you guys suggest I mount the magnaflows? Edit: just realized I'd need to weld in 4 2.5-2.75 reducers, might just mod my oe mid instead |

Here's mine on start up with valves open, catless downpipes, 4 resonators in the midpipe and X type merge. It's a similar concept to the Magnaflow resonators replacing the secondary cats, but more resonators and X type merge instead of the H pipe inside the stock resonator.

the staggered position of the secondary cats is a real limiting factor I never posted my videos to claim my M4 sounded good or bad, just to show how it does sound. with catless DPs and the standard Magnaflow exhaust it was too raspy, loud and thong-slap. The mid-section is really the most important part of the exhaust. playing around axle back won't achieve much. |

I agree, it doesn't sound terrible but it does sound like another variant of the same ol S55 sound without equalizing the pipes prior to them merging (either as a single, or a connecting method such as an H or X-pipe), where it truly changes the over tone into a more sports-car like pitch.

The AA signature exhaust probably give us the best evidence of the fact that even merging the exhaust right after the downpipes and keeping them merged all the way to the muffler(not spliting off around the diff) still doesnt do enough to equalize the sound. |

Hey guys. I'll work on getting something made to bolt up to the stock exhaust also. There isn't as much space as I want but I think it can be done. It will have to be from the end of the downpipes back. But I'm really curious to see how I can make the stock muffler sound with my setup
Maybe by this coming Friday... Quote:

Has anyone thought of trying something like this? X-pipe that crosses over rather than passes through. Will change the stream that comes out of the short downpipe over to the longer side of the exhaust.

To make up for the 14 inch longer front downpipe, you would need like 5-6 of those. Better off utilizing the extra real estate available near muffler area.

This is extremely exciting to read and see what happens. That sound coming from that custom setup is EXACTLY what I love about inline-6 engines. I hope you seriously push through and fabricate a couple for sale.

I know those pipes! I had that Protomotive exhaust on my 991 Turbo S. It was the only exhaust I ever wanted for my 911s because it has excellent flow and sound characteristics. Seems like only guys from the Middle East know about them. And they're from Arkansas
