How do you guys get out that many times? Kids/no kids? I have two kids, 11 and 9 and won't see myself having that kind of time until another 9 years. Most I think I'll be able to do is 4 to 5 events at most per year. Serious question as I wonder when I'll be able to reach that stage.
17 track days here. I share custody of my 10 and 12 year olds with my baby momma. I highly recommend divorce to anyone wanting more track time.

Luckily, my fiance supports my addiction and occasionally joins me for overnight track trips to Lime Rock which has some nice hotels nearby. She's also fine if I go solo and leave her with my kids.

Let's see how long she tolerates this. I haven't made her stay at the Seneca Lodge yet.

When you go to the Glen with her take her to the nice one by the lake

Half my track days this year are weekday events! Less traffic on track, but more on the drive there unfortunately. Weekends are a little hard with kids, but I still manage a few hall passes! The best part is it's easier to justify writing off a track day as a tax deduction if it's a weekday!

Its this one, i worked with Martin and got it shipped to the states. Its high quality excellent fitment. Not as low as the actual GT4 one, but you still get functional brake ducts.

The exchange rate is a lot better than it was last year.

Single and the kids have moved onto their own lives.
This past year seemed difficult to travel to Europe so I went nuts on track days.
I do have 4 days scheduled for Jan. 2022, so the madness continues.

To run a 9.5 front I'd just leave OEM wheels and get it over with... 9.5 front = street setup

BMW OEM M4 GT4 at 3100lb = 11" square
Not sure if you are referring to me, but my 9.5 front is for the street wheels and cold mornings. Then I run 10.5F and 11R on 305/645/18 pirelli DHs but also they arnt east to fit…

Obviously Danny was referring to me!

The key reasons are that my car is not mainly/mostly used on the track, I much prefer the lower stance especially at the front (I know it's not ideal for cornering), and that I've chosen KW suspension which limits the space available for wider front wheels.

Like I mentioned earlier with my current setup my fender inner liners are having rubbing under compression at track. So much wider wheels and tires at the front would definitely not possible under my situation, at least as per my understanding. Please do advise me otherwise.

Your best bet is definitely to run smaller diameter tires. Many times a 285/30 rubs less than a 275/35 due to this.

In the E9X world people found a way to swap springs on the KW to remove the clearance issue.

By the way, I'm here in Canada for Christmas, damn you guys have cold weather!

Anyone recommend any anti-fog solutions? I want to run visor down more, but my helmet tends to fog up, even with all the vents open. I usually need to open my visor partially. I've looked into Pinlocks but they don't make one for my helmet.

I have a feeler up for my Alcon BBK F+R and the MCS 3WR full coilover

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=28463642

In case anyone is wondering, I am not leaving the platform. The GTMore project will require a very different MCS 3WR suspension than the one for the normal car. The Alcon brakes will be replaced with nickel plated Alcons. The apple does not fall far from the tree!

I tried a bunch of anti-fog cream/sprays on my clear visor and they never worked. Stopped happening when I got a replacement iridium visor. I think it may have been factory coated with something to prevent fogging and the clear one wasn't - or at least some kind of wizardry happened.

So this video is centered on G80, but they end up talking a decent amount about their F82 and it’s capabilities on track - figured it would be a relevant watch for this thread:

I'll definitely be sharing my experience with the G82 once it actually gets here

The added weight and lack of DCT disadvantages aside, the added power, suspension tweaks, and M's X-Drive should be fun new things to play with! My first known obstacle will be the brakes, which I hear tend to wear out quickly, especially that comically small rears. I'm not looking to replace the entire rear brake system unless necessary so hopefully some race pads will suffice.

Anyway, here she is on the visualizer with some photoshop tweaking, feel free to gag/drool or anything in between:

I'm also looking forward to your impressions

I've driven the RWD Comp on track and it's fantastic. I was impressed. Hopefully Girodisc makes a kit for the G8X soon, that would be my go to setup maybe along with Ti shims.

I'm also curious about what size wheels the car can take once they are released. I expect 11 square without shenanigans, let's see.

They use a lot of ProTrack wheels on their cars, I would assume it's from them. They don't sell in the US AFAIK

Thanks! Looks like these are the PROTRACK One's. Too bad. Great looking traditional racing wheel.

NP! You’re probably going to be blazing the trail with xDrive fitments, not sure anyone knows how forgiving the AWD system / transfer case is to aftermarket sizing options. I would imagine tho that BMW would have to have a straightforward solution given the track allure of an M3
