ESS Tuning | New Release: M3/M4 Performance Downpipes (Catless & 200cpsi Catted)

When increasing the boost the S55, the factory downpipes on the M3 and M4’s are a major source of bottlenecking. The integrated catalytic converters contribute to an excessive amount of backpressure and heat, which affects the potential for power under any RPM load.

ESS Tuning S55 M3/M4 Downpipes: Catless vs GESI Catted

ESS offers both Catted and Catless downpipes for the M3 and M4. Made from mandrel-bent T304 stainless steel, our pipes are precisely TIG welded for optimal strength and additionally, the clean joints look great to boot. The catted version of the downpipe incorporates the highest quality high flow 200 cell GESI catalytic converter for those who prefer to lower profile in sound, pollutants, and smell.

Both of these downpipes adhere to ESS's strict philosophy of quality and compromise free performance. Both downpipes resolve the bottleneck posed by the factory catalytic converters leading in maximum performance gains, faster turbo spool times on the catted version, and an improvement in exhaust note. In addition, both downpipes are fully bolt-in, featuring stainless steel V-Band flanges and precise accommodations for the O2 sensor in their factory locations.

Both variations of downpipes are competitively priced with others on the market.

Specifications
- Choice of Catless or High-Flow 200cpsi GESI catted construction for increased power and response
- Approximately 10-15 whp after installation
- T304 Stainless Steel construction, using mandrel bends
- Made in USA
- Precision TIG welded joints
- Heavy-Duty Stainless V-Band/Exhaust flanges
- Factory O2 locations retained with Stainless Steel bungs
- Reduced underhood temperatures

Pricing can be seen in the Sponsor's section as well as on our website. I'll follow up with PM as we cannot post pricing in this section.

Guess this gives more reason to go catless.

I'd like to hear a legit sound clip of the catless.

Random: Do pretty much all DPs weigh the same? Like the thickness of the material used is pretty much industry standard or with very little variation?

The budget cats simply do not last for long term. You might be able to get away with ~$100 converters but they will eventually fail within a short time.

A high-quality high flowing catalytic converter isn't cheap. GESI is among the best in the industry, the ESS Catted Downpipes are being offered as a no-compromises product for something that wants the absolute best for their M3 or M4.

If stainless, most will weigh the same.
