6MT downshift rev hang?

Just had a short test drive of F80..it appears as though there is a noticeable rev hang when throttle blipping downshifts (TC off, engine sport).

Is this due to a clutch delay valve or is the auto rev match still on?

Sounds like auto rev match is still on. You need to be in sport plus to have it off.

It probably blips and hangs in .5 of a sec when its on, i wouldnt say its a long time.

Well it was interesting to say the least because the car actually lets you throttle blip should you wish... but will hold the revs for easier shifts. I noticed this especially doing multiple downshifts e.g. (5th-> 3rd) coming to junctions.

I have a 6MT and the automatic rev matching downshift is very fast. I can rip it as quickly as I want from any gear to any gear and its perfect. only thing I can think of is if you weren't aware of it and were blipping the throttle yourself?? that would double the needed throttle and probably make it feel slow and with lag.

if you want it disabled to blip it yourself then you have to be in sport plus on the throttle setting.

If you are shifting and not touching the throttle and fully letting the car rev match it should feel great and fast. if not something is wrong.

I think the way the rev match works is if the pulse sensor detects engine rpm difference with the next anticipated gear, it gives more throttle i.e. no throttle auto rev match. If you clutch in like I did and revved the engine before putting into the next gear, the car will actually hold revs for you until you finish your gear shift. I am a seasoned MT driver with pretty good sense of rev range so I did not feel the car compensating too much.

Bottom line, I like the function more than I thought I would.

Sports plus does not disable rev match on later model F8x.

the auto rev match works on upshifts too. I used bootmod3 to disable the revmatch in all modes except efficient and it has made the driving experience better.

That's from July 2018 right? I am not looking at steel-shafted models, so it should be fine.

Believe it or not, I don’t think anyone has proven that the steel shaft came to the US. At least on the F80 ?
